Looking At Predictive Adds
Kansas City Chiefs veteran running back Darrell Williams is being added more than anyone else in the league right now. Williams took over for second-year running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in Week 5 following a knee injury. Williams accumulated 45 yards on eight touches. Since it looks like CEH will miss substantial time, Williams should assume lead-back duties for a struggling 2-3 Chiefs team. Kansas City also has Jerick McKinnon, but if you are going to own anyone in Kansas City’s backfield, it should be Williams. After all, he does have two touchdown rushes on the year already. Moving forward, you can expect 12-15 touches per week from Williams. He’s not going to be a star, however, he should be a serviceable flex option for as long as Edwards-Helaire remains sidelined.
Devontae Booker is another player fantasy owners are quite high on in the wake of Saquon Barkley’s freakish ankle injury. After missing almost the entire 2020 season, Barkley stepped on an opposing Cowboys defender’s foot in Week 5 and twisted his ankle. He will be out for a substantial period of time. During Barkley’s absence, Booker will step up as the number one option in New York. Against Dallas, Booker recorded 19 touches for 58 yards and two touchdowns. With so many Giants’ skill players injured, Booker will see close to 20 touches a week until Barkley is able to return. Booker will have a decent-sized role in both the running and the passing game as long as Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton and Kenny Golladay remain sidelined. However, Booker’s upside is limited if Mike Glennon has to start for Daniel Jones.

AJ Dillon is another running back who is being added in quite a lot of leagues ahead of Week 6. Dillon has the best outing of his young career in Week 5 when he saw 12 touches for 79 yards and a touchdown. Dillon has seen quite a few opportunities in Green Bay’s potent offense. Still, he serves as Aaron Jones’ backup. Dillon is a phenomenal handcuff for Jones owners. Even if you don’t own Jones and you can add Dillon as your RB4, pull the trigger.
The other member of the New York Giants who will see a solid boost in his value is first-round rookie receiver Kadarius Toney. Toney broke the rookie receiving record in New York on Sunday by catching 10 balls for a whopping 189 yards. The record was previously held by Odell Beckham Jr. Although Toney was ejected from the contest after throwing a punch in the closing minutes of the game, Toney is easily the Giants top target on offense. He is a shifty, has tremendous speed and can catch just about anything in his vicinity. With the rest of the G-Men’s receiving corps injured, Toney is going to see a ton of targets. Don’t be surprised if he takes advantage of every single opportunity he is given. This kid can ball.
The two tight ends being added the most this week -- David Njoku and Hunter Henry -- both had breakout performances in Week 5. Njoku has shown flashes over his short career but had one of his best outings of his career on Sunday, catching seven balls for 149 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Hunter Henry caught six passes for 75 yards and a touchdown in the second consecutive week. Considering the tight end position is so thin after Travis Kelce and Darren Waller, fantasy owners who need a solid streaming tight end should take a chance on Njoku or Henry.
Lastly, there is a great wide receiver on the waiver wire in many leagues that teams are flocking too… and for good reason. Chase Claypool caught five passes for 130 yards and a touchdown in his Week 5 return. Plus, JuJu Smitch-Schuster sufferred a season-ending injury. This means more opportunities and targets for Claypool. Outside of Diontae Johnson, Claypool is the best wide receiver on the Steelers. If he is available in your league, do not hesitate to grab him. Claypool is far too talented to be available on the waiver wire.
