April 12-14 Fantasy Baseball Takeaways: Best Hitting Performances | Willy Adames, Pete Alonso, Michael Busch, Taylor Ward, Jose Altuve and More

The third weekend of MLB action produced plenty of strong performances fantasy baseball owners need to know about.

We’ll take a look at the best performances, regardless if a player is owned in every league, or not owned in any. These articles are ways for fantasy owners to determine the best options over the course of the season, along with some streaming options for the short term.

Top Hitters

Milwaukee Brewers’ Willy Adames led the MLB with eight hits over three games this weekend (April 12-14). Adames doubled twice and homered once, drove in five runs and scored six times. He only struck out two times.

Atlanta Braves’ Marcell Ozuna had seven hits over three games, including two homers and one double. He drove in eight runs and scored three times. Ozuna walked and struck out once.

New York Mets’ Pete Alonso and Chicago Cubs’ Michael Busch each hit three home runs this weekend.

Alonso had five hits total, driving in four runs along the way. He walked three times, struck out just once and scored four runs.

Busch tallied six hits over three games, adding a double to go along with the homers. He drove in four runs and scored three times, while striking out three times. 

Cincinnati Reds’ Christian Encarnacion-Strand drove in seven runs on four hits. He homered once, scored two runs and struck out on five occasions.

Los Angeles Angels’ Taylor Ward drove in six this weekend, doing so on four hits. Ward homered twice, scored three runs and struck out just once.

Houston Astros’ Kyle Tucker drove in six runs on four hits as well. He doubled and homered twice, walked six times, scored four runs and struck out just once.

Ronald Acuna Jr. had a nice weekend, with five hits, three runs scored and three stolen bases. Acuna doubled once, walked twice, drove in a run and struck out just once.

Cincinnati’s Jake Fraley stole three bases across just two games. He singled four times, walked twice, drove in a run, scored five runs and struck out just once.

Angels’ Anthony Rendon recorded six singles this weekend, but drove in just one run. He was also hit by a pitch, scored twice and struck out three times.

Washington Nationals’ Jesse Winker stayed hot with six hits this weekend. He doubled twice and homered once along the way. Winker scored twice, drove in a run, walked once, struck out twice and stole a base.

Houston’s Jose Altuve tallied six hits this weekend, with two doubles and homers amongst the hits. Altuve drove in four runs, scored four times, stole a base, was hit by a pitch, walked once and struck out once.

San Francisco Giants’ Thairo Estrada homered twice and doubled once among his six knocks this weekend. He drove in three runs, scored three times, walked once and struck out twice.

Houston’s Jeremy Pena also had six hits this weekend, including one double. He scored three runs, drove in one, walked twice and struck out on three occasions.

Minnesota Twins’ Ryan Jeffers doubled and homered among his six hits in four games played. He drove in four runs, scored three times and walked and struck out once.

San Diego Padres’ Jackson Merrill was the other player to finish with six hits this weekend - they were all singles. Merrill drove in two, scored once and walked and struck out one time.

Colorado’s Ryan McMahon doubled three times among his four knocks this weekend. He drove in two runs, scored twice, walked two times and struck out four times.

Milwaukee’s William Contreras tallied five hits and walked twice on his way to scoring six runs. He homered twice, drove in four runs, was hit by a pitch, stole a base and struck out just twice.

Cincinnati’s Jonathan India did not post a hit this weekend across three games, but walked five times to score three runs. India drove in a run and struck out four times.

Cincinnati’s Will Benson also walked five times, but also had a couple hits. He doubled once, stole two bases, scored twice and was a strikeout victim on two occasions.

Houston’s Yordan Alvarez singled twice this weekend, but walked five times and was hit by two pitches to reach base a few more times. He scored three runs and wasn’t a strikeout victim even once.
