Sizzling Ryan O'Hearn is a premier starting option ahead of Coors Field trip

Ryan O'Hearn is absolutely tearing it up for Pittsburgh, highlighted by a career-high six-RBI performance. Over his last seven games, he has maintained a scorching .333 batting average with a home run and seven RBIs. Fully healthy after a mid-May quad issue, he is locked in as the primary starter in right field for a 38-37 Pirates squad currently riding a two-game winning streak.

O'Hearn's current hot streak is backed up by excellent season-long metrics that outpace our initial projections. While our models expected a .266 average and 13 home runs, O'Hearn is already sitting at 11 homers and a .290 average through 60 games. While his recent .333 clip will inevitably regress slightly, his improved plate discipline and middle-of-the-order role make him a highly sustainable asset.

The Pirates head to Coors Field for a three-game weekend set against the Rockies, putting O'Hearn in a prime position to produce. He draws highly favorable matchups against struggling Colorado starters, including Kyle Freeland and his 8.31 ERA, along with Michael Lorenzen and his 7.38 ERA. With elite current form and ideal hitting conditions on deck, he is an easy lineup decision. Verdict: Start.
