Week 6 Fantasy Football FAAB: Michael Penix, Woody Marks, and More
FAAB bid ranges for two of the most popular names on the waiver wire at each offensive fantasy position.
Now over a quarter of the way through the season, owners can start thinking about using their FAAB dollars a little more liberally if they haven't spent so far. It's still worth saving money if there's no one available that will really help your team, but time will run out quickly, so don't be shy about grabbing a guy who can improve your roster.
Let's look at reasonable FAAB bids for two of the top players on the waiver wire at each offensive fantasy position heading into Week 6. Most stats are from NFL.com, and fantasy points and rankings are from FantasyPros.

Quarterback
Michael Penix, Atlanta Falcons
Penix has looked like a different quarterback this season. He was fairly average in limited time prior to 2026, but Penix has averaged around 240 passing yards per game on 9.3 per attempt since returning three weeks ago. The matchups haven't been the toughest, but Penix has shown that he can be productive.

He hasn't put up great fantasy numbers because he doesn't run much and has only thrown three touchdowns (one each game), but Penix is worthy of fantasy consideration when the matchup is right.
This week, Penix has a fantastic matchup against the Bears. Things won't be as easy after that, with the 49ers up next, but Penix is a great streaming option this week and is worth at least a dollar or two if you need a fill-in for a QB on bye.
Recommended Bid: $1-2
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Rodgers has thrown three touchdowns in three straight games after opening the year with two rough outings. Matchups help explain that difference, as Rodgers went from the tougher Falcons and Patriots to nicer games against the Bengals, Browns, and Colts. This is a player to deploy when the matchup is right.
This week is a middling matchup against the Bucs, but Rodgers then has a strong outlook in Week 7 against the Saints before rematches with Cleveland and Cincinnati (with a bye between those games). Don't pick up Rodgers thinking he will solve your problems every week, but there is a decent stretch coming beginning next week.
Recommended Bid: $1-2
Running Back
Woody Marks, Houston Texans
Marks has been splitting the backfield with David Montgomery, generally seeing Montgomery get more carries, though Marks has been more efficient. Marks has caught the ball more but only averages about two receptions per game, doing most of his work on the ground.
Marks got a fantasy boost this week, as Montgomery came down with a groin injury and is considered week to week. It looks like he will miss this week's game against the Jaguars, so Marks should get plenty of opportunities. The problem is that Jacksonville has one of the best run defenses in football, allowing the fewest yards per rush attempt after five weeks.
It's not a bad idea to grab Marks, but I'll be recommending him as a player to leave on the bench this week. While he will have a chance to find the end zone, it's unlikely that Marks will find a lot of room to run. Montgomery could return the following week against the Giants, so it's not worth spending big money on Marks.
Recommended Bid: $3-5
Dameon Pierce, Philadelphia Eagles
Another guy getting a boost because of injuries, Pierce has now seen Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, and Will Shipley all go down in front of him in the past two weeks. Bigsby is on IR, and Shipley could follow him there after tearing his plantar fascia, so Pierce is likely in line to be at least RB2 in Philly for a while.
Barkley is listed as questionable and could play this week, and if he does, then Pierce will be left without much fantasy value. If Barkley is out, Pierce has a good matchup against the Panthers, the team that has allowed the most yards per rush attempt in 2026. It's worth grabbing him if you need a flex player this week just in case, but Pierce likely has a limited timeline of productivity (and might not even get one week on top).
Recommended Bid: $2-3
Wide Receiver
Kendrick Bourne, Arizona Cardinals
With Marvin Harrison Jr. traded to the Texans, it appears that Bourne doesn't have competition for the WR2 spot in Arizona. He is firmly behind both Michael Wilson and Trey McBride in the pass-catching hierarchy, but there could be more positive games in Bourne's future, like the five catches and 70 yards he had on Sunday.
Bourne will be nothing more than a WR3/4/flex player each week, an area populated by a ton of available players. When the matchup is right, it will be worth considering Bourne for one of your last lineup spots, but he won't have a great ceiling working behind the other guys.
The next two weeks bring tough matchups against the Rams and Broncos, then a better matchup with the Cowboys is followed by the Seahawks, Rams, and Chiefs; it's not going to be great for Arizona. I recommend leaving Bourne on the waiver wire and maybe grabbing him if you can for that Week 8 game against Dallas.
Recommended Bid: $0-1
Darius Cooper, Philadelphia Eagles
With DeVonta Smith out the past two weeks, Cooper took advantage by racking up over 100 yards and three touchdowns combined. He only caught five passes, and one of them went for a 62-yard score on Sunday, so Cooper wasn't great other than getting into the end zone.
With Smith possibly set to return this week, it's likely that Cooper will have nothing more than a limited role. Counting on him to continue finding the end zone is a fool's errand; Cooper's time as a fantasy impact player is likely to be just a blip when players in front of him were out.
Recommended Bid: $0-1
Tight End
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers
Freiermuth has been listed here before, and each time, I say the same thing: Pittsburgh's tight end is a fine player to consider with the matchups but not a guy who should be in your lineup every week.
I listed him as a player to start in Week 5 with a great matchup with the Colts, and Freiermuth responded with five catches for 44 yards and two touchdowns. I hold the same opinion even after the big game, though: Freiermuth is fine to consider when the matchup is right, but he shouldn't be counted on weekly to produce.
This week against the Bucs is a more middling matchup, but the following game against the Saints will be another chance to excel. Don't throw down much money on Freiermuth, instead waiting for the post-waiver period if you want to grab him.
Recommended Bid: $1
Brenton Strange, Jacksonville Jaguars
Strange has caught seven passes in two straight games, racking up 95 yards against the Bengals in Week 4 and 68 yards Sunday against Philadelphia. While that's encouraging, Strange is more of a middling statistical player who is dependent on matchups. He also has plenty of competition for targets with a strong group of wide receivers around him.
This week against the Texans is a tougher matchup, and that is followed by Jacksonville's bye; Strange isn't a player to pick up right now. He returns with a fantastic matchup against Indianapolis in Week 8, though, and I'll be recommending Strange as a starter that week.
File this name away for a few weeks and remember to grab Strange if you need to fill the position come November.
