Fantasy Football QB ADP Breakdown: Which Early-Round Quarterbacks Are Worth It?
From Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson to Caleb Williams and Jaxson Dart, we examine whether current quarterback draft costs match expected fantasy production.
We started looking at fantasy football average draft position data last week by going over players going in the first three rounds. Here, I wanted to start going over positions, starting with quarterback.
Check back in the days/weeks/months to come for more ADP analysis before the 2026 season begins.
Fantasy football average draft position data can be found on FantasySP in the leadup to the 2026 NFL season!
Josh Allen - Buffalo Bills
Allen is the first quarterback off fantasy draft boards so far, going at pick 15.25 on average.
That's very, very early for a fantasy quarterback, but it's warranted with his play over his career. He was the top fantasy QB in 2025, and a top-five fantasy option overall.
I'm not a huge fan of drafting quarterbacks that early, but it's hard to argue against taking Allen, who should finish atop the position if he's healthy. You better be confident in taking RBs, WRs and TEs later, because if you spend an early pick on Allen, you'll be playing catch up at other positions.
Lamar Jackson - Baltimore Ravens
Jackson is the second QB off draft boards, going at pick 26.75 on average.
Jackson is another good dual-threat fantasy QB, but is coming off a down season in which he only played in 13 games. That makes him a bounceback candidate, but a risky early-round pick.
I'm really not a fan of taking Jackson at that ADP. I think the upside of Jackson isn't enough to outweigh the possible negatives. Skip Jackson that early in drafts.
Drake Maye - New England Patriots
Maye is the next quarterback off draft boards, going at pick 37.25 on average.
He was a top-10 fantasy player last year, so getting him close to pick 40 looks like a win on paper. Maye is the QB I'd like to take second behind Allen, but still around his current ADP.
The Patriots added more talent in the offseason, so I could see Maye taking another step forward this season. We'll see if he can make it happen.
Joe Burrow - Cincinnati Bengals
Burrow is the No. 4 fantasy QB off draft boards. He's going at pick 39.75 on average.
Burrow was good when healthy last season, but he only played in eight games. He's only played over 10 games once in the past three seasons, so his injury concerns are a bit worrisome.
He could be a top-five fantasy QB if he stays healthy, but at that ADP, he's definitely a risk. Weigh the pros and cons before taking Burrow near that ADP - if it were me picking, I'd be skipping Burrow for a bit longer.
Jayden Daniels - Washington Commanders
Daniels is the fifth fantasy QB off draft boards right now, going at pick 45 on average.
He's another good fantasy option due to his dual-threat ability. Daniels is another QB who dealt with injuries in 2025, only getting in seven contests.
Daniels is a bounceback candidate, but he's still a risk after all the injury issues last year. His ADP isn't too bad, but I don't hate it, and wouldn't mind taking him near that pick.
Jalen Hurts - Philadelphia Eagles
Hurts is the next quarterback off draft boards. He's the sixth guy taken, being selected at pick 50.75 on average.
Of course, he's another dual-threat fantasy QB, and Hurts' best ability might be his running. He's taken care of the ball pretty well the past two seasons, which helps offset some lower passing stats.
He's a pretty steady fantasy asset, and a pretty safe pick near that ADP. I'm not sure he will finish at QB6 or better, so if you can get him a bit later than his ADP, that's where I feel most comfortable.
Caleb Williams - Chicago Bears
Williams is the seventh fantasy quarterback taken right now, going at pick 63.25 on average.
He was the No. 5 fantasy QB last year, so getting him at QB7 is a win. Most are expecting more from the Bears' quarterback in 2026, and that's a fair expectation, especially as the team gets ready for year 2 under Ben Johnson.
Williams is a fine pick near that ADP, although I'd be happier to get him a bit later (as I would with most quarterbacks).
Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys
Prescott is the eighth fantasy quarterback taken so far, going at pick 64 on average, so right after Williams.
Prescott has been a pretty good fantasy asset when healthy over his career. Things are lining up well for the Cowboys' QB to have a big 2026, with a good offense around him.
So I'm fine seeing him at QB8 and at pick 64 on average. I see him safely inside the top 10 at the position if he stays healthy, and there's room for him to finish above QB8, so I'm good with taking Prescott shortly after his ADP.
Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers
Herbert is going at pick 66.75 on average and is the ninth fantasy QB taken overall.
He was pretty good in 2025, but did turn the ball over a bit too much. He still was a top-10 fantasy QB. I'm expecting him to be better in 2026.
I'm OK taking Herbert as QB9, but to set up room for him to perform above expectations, I'd want to select him after his current ADP. Don't reach on a QB just because you haven't taken one in the first five or six rounds.
Jaxson Dart - New York Giants
Dart is the 10th fantasy quarterback taken so far, going at pick 68 on average.
He showed some flashes of promise last season, and fantasy owners are expecting more from him in his second year. Dart finished outside the top 10 a season ago, so he is going above what he's shown so far.
Dart is a dual-threat option, so he has a good fantasy upside already. I'm not super high on the Giants' offense, so I'm not a huge fan of taking Dart near his ADP. Getting him a couple rounds after that seems like a much safer idea to me.
The Next QBs Picked
There's a lot of really good fantasy quarterbacks being taken outside the top 10 at the position.
Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence is just outside the top 10, going at pick 69.5 on average.
The next quarterback being taken after that is Kansas City's Patrick Mahomes, at pick 75 on average. Los Angeles Rams' Matthew Stafford is at pick 76 on average.
The 14th fantasy QB off draft boards is San Francisco's Brock Purdy. He's going at pick 79.75 on average. Denver's Bo Nix is going shortly after, at pick 80.5.
Detroit's Jared Goff (94.25), Tampa Bay's Baker Mayfield (104.25), Green Bay's Jordan Love (105.25), New Orleans' Tyler Shough (105.25) and Kyler Murray (109.25) are the next five quarterbacks taken.
Check out the ADP QB list for the data up to this point. It's bound to change between now and the start of the season, and it's always interesting to see how things shift. That's why it's fun to look into ADP data now, and why we'll continue to do it until the season kicks off.
