Fantasy Football Quarterback Waiver Wire Options for Week 7: Jaxson Dart, Trevor Lawrence and More
Looking over some fantasy football waiver wire targets at quarterback going into week 7.
Week 6 of the NFL regular season is nearly in the books, so it's time to start jumping on week 7 fantasy football waiver wire options.
We'll begin with the quarterback position here. Keep checking back for more!

Should You Add Jaxson Dart?
Dart played back on Thursday, and many may have forgotten his fantasy showing already, but he helped the Giants past the Eagles.
Dart was 17-of-25 passing for 195 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He added 58 yards and a score on 13 rushing attempts.
That was Dart's third start of the season, and he delivered average-or-better fantasy results for a third straight time. He's been over 15 fantasy points in each contest, and faced a couple tougher defenses along the way.
I like Dart because of his dual-threat ability, and fantasy owners should too. He's proved he can deliver against tougher defenses too, so you should be confident enough to start him in all leagues types already.
He has a tough matchup coming against the Broncos, who just shut down Justin Fields and the Jets. The tough matchup is going to lead to many fantasy owners to look elsewhere for week 7 help. While that's not a terrible idea, I'd still like the idea of adding-and-stashing Dart.
He looks like he's here to stay, and if he delivers against the Broncos, he could really see his own percentage jump up, and then you could miss out on him completely. Adding-and-stashing him now helps make sure you don't have to deal with a waiver wire rush to grab him.
So find yourself a week 7 streaming option, but also add Dart for the weeks after that.
Should You Add Sam Darnold?
Darnold had another good showing in week 6, helping the Seahawks take down the Jaguars.
He was 16-of-27 passing for 295 yards, two scores and no picks. Darnold only had two rushing yards on four attempts, but his passing numbers helped him to a healthy fantasy score.
Darnold has completed 70.8% of his passes on the season, while racking up 1,541 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He's averaging 256.8 passing yards a game, and with not many mistakes, he's been a pretty good, and underrated, fantasy asset.
Darnold has scored over 15 fantasy points in each game since week 1, and been at or over 20 points in two straight games. It's really a mystery why he's available in so many leagues yet.
He won't play until Monday night in week 7 against the Texans. That's the toughest matchup possible for a fantasy QB, so again, he's not a stellar streaming option for the upcoming week.
With how he's played over the past several weeks though, he's still a fine deep-league starting option, and could be stashed in a standard league. I maybe am not quite as high on him as I am Dart (with no dual-threat ability holding Darnold back), but Darnold has a chance to be a weekly starter in standard leagues for most of the rest of the season, so he's still worth adding in those leagues going into week 7.
Should You Add Trevor Lawrence?
Lawrence was pretty solid in a losing effort on Sunday. He completed 27 of his 42 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Lawrence rushed for nine yards on three attempts, but also took seven sacks.
He's completing just 61.1% of his passes so far this season, and eight touchdowns to five interceptions isn't a great ratio. Lawrence's 220.7 yards per game also is pretty underwhelming. But with 95 rushing yards and two scores, Lawrence gains back some fantasy value that way.
Lawrence has 19 or more fantasy points in two straight games, after reaching that mark just once in the first four games. Surprise, surprise - he also has a tough clash in week 7, going against the Rams.
Lawrence is a step or two below Dart and Darnold, but he's still a solid deep-league starter at least. With a bit easier matchup than those two, he could be added in standard leagues too, especially if the options are limited.
Lawrence will still be an average-or-worse fantasy option for the upcoming week, but with how he's played the past two weeks, several fantasy owners will be willing to take a chance on him.
Should You Add Dillon Gabriel?
Gabriel did not take advantage of a favorable matchup in week 6, but he's got another one in week 7, so I'm mentioning him again.
Gabriel was 29-of-52 passing in week 6, throwing for just 221 yards. He didn't throw a touchdown, but he did avoid an interception. Gabriel rushed for no yards and took six sacks.
He was better as a fantasy asset in his first start, which was actually a tougher matchup. Now he has a super favorable test against the Dolphins next.
That at least makes Gabriel a deep-league starting option, while allowing standard league owners to use him in a pinch. Most won't trust him, but if you want to play matchups, he's an option.
Should You Add Spencer Rattler?
The Saints lost again on Sunday, but Rattler put together a decent showing again. He was 20-of-26 passing for 227 yards, but no scores. He added 20 rushing yards on four carries, and avoided a fumble and pick.
Rattler has scored over 15 fantasy points just once this season, but he's been in double figures every contest. While he's been below average, he's at least offered a higher floor than several guys.
He has a great matchup coming against the Bears, who will be coming off a short week, as they play Monday night. Rattler won't be in many standard leagues for week 7 (if any), but he is a deep-league option to try if you don't like any other quarterbacks in their matchups.
Should You Add Bryce Young?
Young was solid in week 6 in a great matchup against the Cowboys. He was 17-of-25 passing for 199 yards, three touchdowns and an interception. Young rushed for five yards on three carries and was sacked just once.
It was his second-best fantasy showing of the season, but only his second time over 15 points. He's failed to reach 10 points just once.
His fantasy ceiling might be low, but in good matchups, he can be a sneaky good option. Young has another favorable test in week 7 against the Jets.
After a decent outing in week 6, I'd expect Young to get some fantasy love and be added and started in more leagues for week 7.
Should You Add Joe Flacco?
Flacco had his best fantasy showing of the season just days after being traded to the Bengals. He was 29-of-45 for 219 yards, two scores and no picks. Flacco didn't run at all and was sacked just once.
He will open week 7 against the Steelers, who are a pretty favorable matchup. With a little more practice time with his new team, Flacco could be a sneaky good fantasy asset for the upcoming week.
I don't think it's crazy to consider him in standard leagues, although I like him best in deep setups.
Should You Add J.J. McCarthy?
McCarthy could return from his injury in week 7 against the Eagles.
He hasn't played since September 14, which was week 2. He only really played a good quarter or so in the first two weeks of play.
Philly is actually an above-average matchup for fantasy quarterbacks, so McCarthy wouldn't be a terrible streaming option in standard leagues, although I would only want to trust him in deeper leagues coming off the injury.
If McCarthy doesn't start, Carson Wentz could be streamed. It'll be interesting to see which QB the Vikings roll with.
Should You Add Michael Penix?
Penix plays on Monday night, so we'll see if he enters week 7 with any momentum or not.
He was pretty good in his last game, but had a couple duds before that. A matchup against the 49ers will be a pretty average one for the young QB.
I think his streaming status for week 7 will be based on how he looks Monday night, so tune into that, or check in the morning for the FantasySP takeaways from the two Monday games.
Should You Add Aaron Rodgers?
Rodgers was 21-of-30 passing for 235 yards, two scores and no picks, while rushing for one yard against Cleveland in week 6.
He'll have a pretty nice matchup against the Bengals on Thursday night, so he'll be a sneaky good option for week 7.
Rodgers has scored in double figures every week, but only been over 15 points twice - week 1 and week 6. The favorable test in week 7 could mean he gets some fantasy attention though.
Should You Add Jacoby Brissett?
Brissett would only be a fantasy option if Kyler Murray missed another week, which I do not see happening.
He actually finished with the No. 6 QB performance in week 6, as he threw for 320 yards, two touchdowns and a pick on 27-of-44 passing. He added 19 rushing yards on three carries.
Brissett would have an average test against the Packers if he makes another start, so he's a name to keep tabs on.
