Trevor Lawrence Fantasy Outlook
Lawrence is the team's starting quarterback going into 2025. He's coming off an injury-plagued season, but there's still enough talent around him in order for Lawrence to deliver good fantasy results.
Lawrence got in 10 games in 2024. He had 2,045 yards, 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a passer. Lawrence added 119 yards and three scores on the ground.
He's currently QB21 and is going around pick 160 so far. So while he's an option late in standard leagues, he's probably more often just being taken in deeper leagues.
Lawrence is a streaming option in standard leagues to start the season, but needs to show some positive results before anyone will likely trust him.
He's a better option in deeper leagues, and can be a weak No. 2 option or stronger No. 3 guy. I'd try not to go into the season relying on him to be a weekly starter, but instead just providing depth or starting occasionally.
I don't see him exploding into a top-10 fantasy quarterback this season, but with a new staff in Jacksonville, it's not completely off the table either.
Running Back Fantasy Outlook
There's some questions about the Jacksonville backfield going into 2025. Travis Etienne Jr. is still the projected starter, but Tank Bigsby should also be a big part of the offense. Rookies Bhayshul Tuten and LeQuint Allen Jr. are some other depth options.
Etienne regressed in a big way in 2024. After having 1,484 total yards and 12 touchdowns in 2023, Etienne just had 812 yards and two scores over 15 games last season.
He has big bounceback potential for the upcoming season, but with a new coaching staff in place, it'll be a waiting game to know how the backfield work is divvied up.
For some of the questions around Etienne, I'm not a very big fan of taking him near his current ADP. He's RB32 and going around pick 88 so far.
He's capable of outplaying that mark, but if he splits the workload, like he did in 2024, Etienne is going to have a hard time living up to that pick.
He's OK as a third fantasy back on a team, but I'd do my best to not need Etienne to be a weekly starter this season.
Bigsby is RB42 and is going around pick 118. He took a big step forward in his second season.
Over 16 games, Bigsby had 820 total yards and seven scores. He didn't do much as a pass catcher, which is where Etienne can do some damage.
If I had to guess, I'd say Bigsby leads the way in rushing attempts this season, but Etienne's work in the passing game will make both backs viable fantasy options.
I like Bigsby near his ADP, and I just hope he doesn't rise too much as the season nears. As is, I see a lot of value in drafting Bigsby near that ADP.
Tuten is RB51 and going near pick 150. Some of that could be influenced by dynasty/keeper drafts, because I don't see Tuten being near standard league relevance, at least to kick off the season.
He's a fine deep-league option, especially if you also roster Etienne or Bigsby. In time, he could work into a more prominent role in Jacksonville, but I really don't see that happening in 2025.
Stash Tuten in some deeper setups, and dynasty/keeper leagues but don't be expecting a bunch out of him this season.
Wide Receiver Fantasy Outlook
Brian Thomas Jr. is the team's No. 1 wideout after a big rookie season in 2024. Rookie Travis Hunter should be the next in line for targets and production, while Dyami Brown is the third projected starter.
Joshua Cephus, Trenton Irwin and Parker Washington are the top projected backups at this point.
Thomas is a top-end fantasy talent and a borderline first-round pick. Currently, he's WR8 and going near pick 15.
Thomas played in 17 games as a rookie and tallied 1,330 yards and 10 total touchdowns. He announced himself as a big fantasy asset and should remain a top-end option for a long time.
He should pretty easily be the top pass catcher for the Jaguars in 2025. Thomas delivered without Lawrence playing in all 17 games last season, so a full season of the starting QB being around should lead to another big fantasy showing.
Some are expecting a little regression from Thomas, and that's a fair point. At the same time, his ADP is in a good enough spot to offer draft value and maybe even be a draft steal, again.
Landing him as your stop receiver is a great thing in my eyes - if you get him as your second wideout, that position is going to be a strength of yours.
Hunter is hoping to be a two-way player in the NFL. It seems that he's going to focus more on offense early in his career, but playing both sides of the ball could be a bit of a detriment to his overall outlook as a receiver.
Hunter is a big name, so it's fair to see him as WR30 and going around pick 70 so far. I personally think that's too early and would prefer a more proven player near that pick. However, if you feel you knocked the picks before him out of the park, then taking a gamble on Hunter near that ADP makes some sense.
Treat him more like a flex option who can start here and there instead of a weekly option and you should be in good shape for the upcoming season.
Brown is WR85 and is going around pick 282 on average. That's pretty low for a third receiver on a team, especially one with only one proven wideout.
Of course, Brown only has 821 yards and a score over four NFL seasons, so it makes sense that he isn't a big-time fantasy asset. He's more of a depth option, even in deeper leagues, and shouldn't be counted on for too much in 2025.
Tight End Fantasy Outlook
Brenton Strange is the team's top tight end going into the 2025 season. So far, Strange is TE21 and is going around pick 182 on average.
In his second NFL season, Strange produced 411 yards and two scores over 17 games. He started 10 of those contests, and now is clearly the top TE on the team.
I think Strange is a sleeper option going into the season. Outside Thomas, there's no proven pass catchers on this offense, and the backfield is also a bit uncertain. A tight end could really thrive in this offense, and Strange has the chance to be a sneaky good fantasy option.
I think his ADP is right where it should be. It means he should only be rostered in deeper fantasy setups, but that he's also near the top of the streaming option list to kick things off.
Target Strange in deeper drafts, and keep an eye on his production throughout the season if you are in a standard league. We'll see if Strange can carve out a consistent role in this offense, and maybe become a bigger fantasy asset for the seasons to come.
