Fantasy Football Week 10 IDP Waiver Wire Pickups: Nate Landman, Demani Richardson, Grover Stewart and More
These are the defensive players you should be targeting on the waiver wire in your IDP leagues.
Linebackers
Jack Gibbens, Tennessee Titans
With Ernest Jones being shipped to Seattle, it is Gibbens who has stepped up and not Jerome Baker, who was sent back in that deal. Gibbens again led the team in tackles in Week 9, piling up 14 tackles (five solo), 0.5 sacks, and two tackles for loss.
There is still some concern that Baker will eat into his volume as he becomes more comfortable in the system, however, you can roll with Gibbens until that actually becomes a reality.
Nate Landman, Atlanta Falcons
Landman continues to sit on waivers. This is much in part due to a looming Troy Andersen return and the potential volatility that could bring to the Falcons' LB corps. While everyone was continuing to sleep on Landman, all he did was post another double-digit tackle game on Sunday.
Devin Bush, Cleveland Browns
It was Bush and not Mohamoud Diabate who stepped up as the top IDP option in the Browns LB corps in Week 9. He racked up eight tackles (six solo) and sacked the quarterback. While things can change, he looks like the LB to own until their top guys get healthy.
Daiyan Henley, Los Angeles Chargers
Henyley had another great performance in Week 8, making 14 tackles (eight solo), with one going for a loss, and defending a pass. He has emerged as the LB to own in IDP leagues on the Chargers.
Jamien Sherwood, New York Jets
Sherwood has taken C.J. Mosley's job. He should no longer be viewed as a guy who is filling in for a guy who is injured.
He had another big game last week on Thursday Night Football, dragging down the ball carrier seven times for seven solo tackles. Two of those tackles were of the quarterback for sacks. This is a guy who should now be owned in all IDP leagues for the remainder of the season.
Defensive Backs
Demani Richardson, Carolina Panthers
We mentioned Richardson last week and he was tremendous in Week 9. He managed 12 tackles (eight solo) to lead the team and defended a pass. This is a plug-and-play option for at least three more games with Nick Scott on injured reserve. His run could also run longer than that depending on when or if Scott returns.
Kamren Kinchens, Los Angeles Rams
The former Miami Hurricanes star is now emerging as a star in LA. He saw his snap count climb above Kam Curl for the first time this season in Week 9 and the playmaker picked off two passes.
Things are only going to get better from here. However, his inconsistent playing time could still limit his tackling floor and cause week-to-week volatility.
Defensive Linemen
Grover Stewart, Indianapolis Colts
Stewart has always been a solid tackling DT. This season, he's having a career year and getting to the QB a bit more. He had another solid game this past week, making four tackles (two solo) and recording two sacks. The return of DeForest Buckner is only going to open things up for him too.
Chauncey Golston, Dallas Cowboys
Golston has proven to have a solid floor thanks to his high tackling volume. He had another five-tackle (two solo) game in Week 9. His sack total is only two, so there isn't a ton of upside, but he's a nice floor-play option.
Calais Campbell, Miami Dolphins
Campbell is the third Miami Hurricane to grace this article this week. He is also an ageless wonder. At 38 years old, he continues to be a productive IDP asset.
This past week, he made six tackles, all solo. Over his past four games, he's made 21 tackles, with at least five tackles in each game. You tack on two sacks, a forced fumble and three batted passes and you have a strong floor option with some upside still left in the tank.
Dante Fowler Jr., Washington Commanders
In a section full of floor options, here is your upside. Fowler's name continues to get brought up because he continues to make big plays week after week. This past week he made six tackles (three solo) with two sacks and a forced fumble. That is now five of his last six games with a big play being made.
During that span, he has six sacks, a forced fumble, an interception, and a TD. His tackling consistency generally isn't great, so there is the concern of a bust week, nevertheless, with the way he's been playing, he's well worth the risk.
