NFL Free Agency | Every Quarterback Signed With a New Team: Kirk Cousins, Russell Wilson, Gardner Minshew and More

A complete list of free agent quarterbacks who signed with a new team during the 2024 offseason.

Kirk Cousins, Atlanta Falcons

Four Years, $180 Million

Cousins was easily the biggest quarterback signing in free agency and should have the biggest impact both in fantasy and in real life.

Even at 35 years old coming off a torn Achilles, he's still such a massive upgrade with so much young talent around him that he changes the landscape of the NFC South. While he will be a mid-level fantasy option, his true value comes in the upgrade he provides for Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts.

Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers

One Year, $1.21 Million

Wilson was signed to the Steelers as the clear starting option, which became even clearer after the team shipped Kenny Pickett off to Philadelphia. However, things changed slightly when the team turned around and traded next to nothing for Justin Fields. The fact that Wilson is on a veteran minimum contract allowed the Steelers to retain both QBs.

We aren't sure who will ultimately be the starter for the majority of the season, nevertheless, we are sure this quarterback room has been upgraded in a major way at a very low cost.

Gardner Minshew, Las Vegas Raiders

Two Years, $25 Million

It's looking like Minshew went to a team where he has a shot at the starting job. He will battle it out in training camp with Aidan O'Connell this summer.

There is a real chance he wins this job and holds fantasy relevancy in SuperFlex leagues. This is an upgrade for Davante Adams, who is coming off his worst season since becoming a fantasy star.

Jimmy Garoppolo, Los Angeles Rams

One year, $4.5 Million

Jimmy G will serve as a competent backup to Matthew Stafford, who hasn't exactly been the picture of health over the past few seasons.

If nothing else, this is an extra insurance for Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua should Stafford miss time. Garoppolo isn't a great starter, but he'll be one of the better backups in the league.

Sam Darnold, Minnesota Vikings

One Year, $10 Million

Things could change, however, it looks like Darnold could be the starter for the Vikings this season. His $10 million price tag suggests that the team may view him as a bridge quarterback between Cousins and the QB they view as their eventual franchise QB.

He's not good, but teams don't want to give up on him. They are hoping for another Geno Smith situation.

Joe Flacco, Indianapolis Colts

One Year, N/A

Flacco was outstanding last season for the Browns, earning himself the Comeback Player of the Year award before turning back into the Joe Flacco we've come to know to in love for a long time in the playoffs.

Still, as long as the Colts' offensive line can hold up, he can be effective in Indy if called upon. With Anthony Richardson struggling to stay healthy during his rookie season, Flacco will serve as a competent veteran backup if needed.

Tyrod Taylor, New York Jets

Two Years, $12 Million

Taylor is always a decent backup who doesn't win many games but also isn't an embarrassment. That alone is a major upgrade from anyone on the Jets' roster last season.

The mediocre Taylor will serve as the backup to a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers, who is coming off an Achilles injury that cost him all but four plays last season. There is a chance we see a lot more of Taylor than the team is hoping for.

Jacoby Brissett, New England Patriots

One Year, $8 Million

Brissett goes back to the team he started with in New England. As of now, he looks like the starter, however, we fully expect the Pats to address the position in the first round of the NFL Draft in April.

Assuming they do, Brissett will either serve as a decent backup or begin the season as the starter before inevitably being benched for the rookie once the wheels come off.

Marcus Mariota, Washington Commanders

One Year, $6 Million

Currently, Mariota is viewed as the starter in Washington. Hopefully, that changes because that would be a disaster.

It's hard to imagine that they don't make some sort of significant move for a QB before the end of April.

Drew Lock, New York Giants

One Year, $5 Million

At this point, we know what Lock is. He's far too inaccurate to be an NFL quarterback and his decision-making is among the worst in the league. He'll be a backup to Daniel Jones and will likely stink it up if he's thrust into the starting job.

Mitch Trubisky, Buffalo Bills

Five Years $5.25 Million

Trubisky feels like he fits on the Bills. He's essentially a terrible version of Josh Allen. It just seems like he fits in Buffalo, however, he will not fit anywhere near your fantasy team.

Jameis Winston, Cleveland Browns

One Year, $4 Million

There is a scenario where Winston is the best quarterback in Cleveland this season and becomes extremely fantasy-relevant at some point during the year. Deshaun Watson has struggled mightily to be effective and to stay healthy during his tenure with the Browns. We saw Joe Flacco far outperform Watson last season. No one should be shocked if Winston did the same in 2024.

Mason Rudolph, Tennessee Titans

One Year, $2.87 Million

The Titans are going to give Will Levis every opportunity to become the long-term starter in Tennessee this season. It's possible that Rudolph is the better of the two quarterbacks, but Levis is going to have to be horrific to lose that job to a guy like Rudolph, who is a career backup with little upside.

Joshua Dobbs, San Francisco 49ers

One Year, $2.25 Million

Dobbs looked awesome last season before fizzling out spectacularly. There is some hope that he would be an impact player and potential streaming option if he is forced into the starting role of Kyle Shanahan's system should Brock Purdy suffer an injury.

Tyler Huntley, Cleveland Browns
N/A

This is a nothing signing. Huntley will be fighting for a roster spot and hopes to be the QB3 in Cleveland. He has no fantasy relevance.

Nathan Peterman, New Orleans Saints

N/A

How does this guy keep getting signed? If you ever wonder why people scream about guys like Colin Kaepernick and Tim Tebow, it's because Peterman somehow continuously gets jobs in this league.
