Week 9 Monday Night Football: Baltimore Ravens at New Orleans Saints Betting & DFS Preview
The Baltimore Ravens (5-3) are back on Prime Time again this week. They’ll be heading down south to take on the New Orleans Saints (3-5) on Monday Night Football. This should be a good one. Both teams are loaded with talent, but both teams are also ravaged by injury on the offensive side of the ball. These teams are both battling for a division crown in their surprisingly weak divisions. This one may lack the offensive firepower we expected when the schedules came out, nonetheless, it should be a tight game.

Week 9 Baltimore Ravens at New Orleans Saints NFL Best Bets
This is a tough game to gauge because there are so many unknowns due to injuries. Both offenses are a shell of what they were when Week 1 kicked off. In the case of the Ravens, they don’t even look close to what they were when Thursday Night Football kicked off last week. However, both teams have gotten healthy on defense. So, the offenses may have to grind out points in this game. The Over/Under is sitting at 45.5 (-110), you should pound the under.
The Ravens won the battle against the Bucs last week but may have lost the war. They came out the other side worse for the wear and will be without Rashod Bateman, Mark Andrews, and Gus Edwards this week and possibly moving forward. Bateman saw his season end this week, and Andrews and Edwards could be looking at a multi-week injury. A Week 10 bye couldn’t come at a better time for them though.
The Saints’ offense is even more depleted than the Ravens’. When the season kicked off the team expected Jameis Winston to be throwing to Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry. None of them will be playing this week. Back and ankle injuries have left Winston ineffective, Thomas is done for the season with a foot injury, and Landry hasn’t practiced in weeks. New Orleans will be leaning heavily on Alvin Kamara, Chris Olave, and Taysom Hill to help Andy Dalton get the job done.
The Saints’ offense clearly has more talent still on the field and a better defense. The Ravens will be running out Devin Duvernay, Isaiah Likely, and Kenyan Drake as their top playmakers at each skill position. Baltimore’s defense has been better as of late after an awful start to the season but is still below average. Nevertheless, the great equalizer is Lamar Jackson who is infinitely more talented than Dalton and can put the team on his back any given week. He will have to dominate in this game if the Ravens plan to win this one on the road.
The Pick: New Orleans Saints, +2.5 (-110)
DFS Showdown: Most Intriguing Plays
We will be giving you insight into the most intriguing players this week on MNF. You generally won’t see superstars in this section. All prices are based on DraftKings.
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens $8,700
Likely is going to be the popular play this week with Andrews sidelined. He was a top waiver wire add this week and the hype train is rolling in full gear after he caught six on seven targets last week for 77 yards and a touchdown after Andrews went down. However, don’t get so caught up in the hype that you ignore the matchup. The Saints are allowing the fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season. They have surrendered just 229 yards and no TDs to the position. He is likely to be a chalky pick this week, but you may be better off passing on him.
Devin Duvernay, Baltimore Ravens $10,200
If you’re going to roll with a Ravens wideout this week, Duvernay is the guy to roll with. Demarcus Robinson was looking like a solid cheaper option after leading the team in targets last week, however, not worth the risk after being added to the injury report with a groin injury on Friday. The team finds creative ways to get Duvernay the ball and likes to target him in the end zone. He already has three receiving TDs, one rushing TD, and a return TD this season. The Saints are dominant against TEs but allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to wideouts. You should try to fit him in your lineup on Monday night.
Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saint $7,500
If you want to swing for the fences Shaheed has been a home run hitter this season. The rookie has only been playing for the past three weeks, but he’s had significant impact plays in every game. In his season debut in Week 6, he failed to catch his lone target, however, he broke off a 44-yard TD run. The following week, he caught his lone target for a 53-yard TD pass. Then last week he saw a career-high three targets. He caught all three for 38 yards including another big 30-yard play. Shaheed has the boom upside you need to win your DFS tournament.
