Top Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Targets for Thursday
A fresh batch of fantasy basketball waiver wire targets, including trending scorers, rising rookies, and reliable streaming options.
Another day means another fantasy basketball waiver wire/streaming article!
Here are the stories we did on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, plus a streaming-focused article for Thursday.
Waiver wire options can be found all season on FantasySP!
Daeqwon Plowden: Shining of Late
Plowden is up 6.62% today, which brings his overall mark to 24.76%.
Plowden has been a pretty good fantasy asset when active of late. He has scored in double figures in eight straight. Over that stretch, Plowden is averaging 15 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 1.1 assists over 31.6 minutes.
Plowden has 20 and 22 points over the past two games. He doesn't add a ton else, but on scoring alone, he's a pretty good fantasy asset.
Sacramento's injury report is basically an entire team, so as long as Plowden can play, he has a good fantasy outlook. Add him in more deeper leagues, and keep utilizing him until his production or role fades.
As for standard leagues, he could be a streaming asset in a pinch. Plowden just doesn't do enough to warrant adding him in those leagues immediately, even on his higher scoring nights.
Devin Carter: Double Figures in Three Straight
Carter has been added in 4.8% of leagues and now he sits at 25.73% overall.
Carter is another King trending up with so many others out of action. He has delivered well in his past three appearances, but also missed five games in the middle of that stretch.
Since returning to the court, Carter has tallied 34 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals over 27 and 34 minutes. He started and played 34 minutes in the last contest, which is a big reason why he's trending up of late.
Unlike Plowden, Carter is doing a bit more than just scoring, so he's a bit better fantasy option. I like the idea of adding and utilizing Carter in deeper leagues, and think he's closer to standard league usage. There's probably still better options out there in those leagues though, so do your research before possibly adding Carter in standard leagues.
Moussa Diabate: Consecutive Double-Doubles
Diabate is rostered in 78.16% of leagues after a 3.28% increase.
Diabate has looked really good over the past two games, posting double-doubles in each contest. He had 11 points, 14 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal over 32 minutes in the first contest. Diabate played just 24 minutes in his last appearance, but still provided 17 points, 11 rebounds, two blocks and assists and one steal.
Diabate can be a good fantasy asset as a double-double threat, and he's trending up after his past two performances. The Hornets aren't missing anyone too important right now, so there's no reason to expect Diabate's production/role to dip.
As long as he's excelling, Diabate is worth streaming/holding in standard leagues. He might be a better deep-league asset, but he's also worth utilizing in standard leagues when he's riding hot - and he is now.
Jeremiah Fears: Coming Off Big Performance
Fears has been added in 5.09% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 43.69%.
Fears has had an up-and-down rookie season, but has shown some flashes of promise. He is coming off a game in which he delivered 21 points, three assists, two steals and one rebound over 20 minutes off the bench.
He took 12 shots in that game, which is around what he's been at most nights. Fears just made more shots than usual, which led to a higher-scoring performance.
A couple Pelicans are on the injury report, which helps Fears' cause. If Bryce McGowens, Trey Murphy III and Dejounte Murray remain out in games to come, then Fears' fantasy outlook is a bit higher.
He's another deep-league option only in my eyes, but he could be a standard league option if McGowens, Murphy and Murray are out for the team's next game. Keep an eye on that injury report and react accordingly.
Herbert Jones: Steady Production of Late
Jones has been added in 4.1% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 53.4%.
Jones is another one taking advantage of some of the New Orleans injuries. He has scored in double figures in three straight, combining for 36 points, 11 assists, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks over those games.
He's importantly played an average of 32.7 minutes a contest in those three outings. The more he plays, the better chance he has to deliver for fantasy owners.
Jones is a good deep-league asset, and could be a standard league streaming asset, at least for the time being. Again though, there's probably better fantasy options out there, so do some digging before scooping Jones up.
