Elite Plate Discipline and Steady Category Contribution Make Bregman a Safe Corner Infield Anchor
Alex Bregman enters another season locked in as the everyday starting third baseman and a vital cog in the heart of a potent Houston lineup. At this stage of his career, fantasy managers know exactly what to expect from the veteran infielder: reliable playing time, outstanding plate discipline, and a high floor that mitigates draft-day risk. His role is as secure as any in baseball, hitting in a run-producing spot that ensures plenty of opportunities to rack up counting stats.
Our season projection expects Bregman to accumulate over 530 at-bats, yielding nearly 20 home runs, 78 RBIs, and 80 runs scored. While his stolen base contributions remain a non-factor, his projected batting average of .259 and an elite .351 on-base percentage will elevate your team's ratios. This projection aligns closely with his career baseline, showcasing his ability to consistently walk nearly as often as he strikes out, making him especially valuable in OBP and points formats.
Ultimately, Bregman is a safe, high-floor investment at a premium position. He may lack the elite 30-homer upside of the top-tier third basemen, but his incredibly consistent output and durable track record make him an excellent target in the middle rounds of drafts to stabilize your offense.

Outlook Casey Mize
Casey Mize begins a rehab assignment on Tuesday as he works his way back from an adductor strain.
Mize is currently on the injured list with a right adductor strain, but progress is being made as he is scheduled for a rehab start on Tuesday. Before the injury, the 29-year-old was pitching beautifully, boasting a 2.36 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over nine starts. His absence is a tough blow for the last-place Tigers (27-39), who are also missing ace Tarik Skubal from their active rotation.
While Mize's 2.36 ERA looks stellar, our models expect some regression once he returns, projecting a 4.11 ERA and 1.27 WHIP for the season. This aligns more closely with his career 3.96 ERA from last year. He has flashed excellent strikeout potential with a 9.63 K/9, but his durability remains a major roadblock to unlocking full fantasy value.
Detroit has a six-game slate this week, hosting the Twins before traveling to face the first-place Guardians. Since Mize is just starting his rehab assignment on Tuesday, he will not make an appearance for the Tigers this week. Keep him stashed on your injured list and Sit him for now.
