Nikolaj Ehlers | Fantasy Outlook

Ehlers brings top power-play role and scoring upside into home clash with Canucks

Nikolaj Ehlers and the Carolina Hurricanes host the Vancouver Canucks tonight at Lenovo Center in what projects as a higher-scoring environment with Carolina favored heavily at home. Ehlers enters with two assists across four games, including a slick power-play helper to Sebastian Aho on Tuesday. While he skates primarily on the third line with Jordan Staal and Jordan Martinook at even strength, Ehlers maintains prime exposure on Carolina’s top power-play unit. Fantasy managers have reacted accordingly, pushing his start rate up to 88% as Carolina (2–1–1) looks to exploit a Vancouver squad (2–2–0) opening its road trip.

Our models project Ehlers for ~1 point and ~2–3 shots on goal tonight, giving him a solid goal-scoring chance and upside for power-play production that translates to roughly 4.2 fantasy points. Across Carolina's four-game weekly slate, our data forecasts around 7.5 fantasy points, with two road contests remaining this weekend after tonight's matchup. Even with depth minutes at even strength, his elite playmaking and PP1 role keep his fantasy floor high in favorable home spots. Today’s action: Strong Start.
