Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Wide Receivers to Add, Led By Cooper
These wideouts could provide a boost to your fantasy football roster, with options for both standard and deeper leagues.
Let's continue looking into Week 8 fantasy football waiver wire options by discussing some wide receivers!
We already went over running backs, and will cover quarterbacks and tight ends in additional stories to come!
Fantasy football waiver wire data can be found all season on FantasySP! The Fantasy Sports Assistant now can answer questions you have after doing team breakdowns or waiver wire analysis!
Omar Cooper Jr. - New York Jets
Cooper was rostered in 69.08% of leagues for Week 7. This could be the last time we feature him in a waiver wire article, especially if he keeps producing.
After a big Week 6 showing, Cooper kept things rolling in Week 7 by hauling in all five of his targets for 115 yards and a touchdown. He had 103 yards and a score across six catches and seven targets last week.
He has only played in three games overall, with an injury knocking out other possible games and production. When healthy, he's been a big part of the Jets' offense, and I like that to continue moving forward.

Cooper is someone who got added in all deeper leagues after Week 6, and now he's showing he's worth adding in all standard leagues as well. He'll be a solid flex-level option, even as the Jets' WR2 behind Garrett Wilson.
Cooper is my favorite fantasy wideout pickup of the week, and he should be near 100% owned by the time Week 8 kicks off.
Caleb Douglas - Miami Dolphins
Douglas sat at just 14.97% owned before Week 7. He could get a nice boost before he plays again.
He's had a similar season to Cooper in that he's missed extended time. Douglas caught just two passes on Sunday, but they went for 70 yards and two touchdowns - he had three total targets.
The involvement offensively wasn't great, but the rookie made the most of his catches. He was solid in Week 1 before getting banged up in Week 2. So he's been pretty productive when healthy this season.
Like the Jets' offense, the Dolphins' offense isn't very good, but that actually bodes well for wide receivers, as the teams are likely to be passing often to keep up or keep pace. That makes Douglas another solid fantasy option.
He's a better deep-league option, but another big game could get him to the status of Cooper - being worth standard league adds. So he's one to keep tabs on, but feel free to add and utilize him in deeper leagues for now.
KC Concepcion - Cleveland Browns
Concepcion is rostered in 60.88% of leagues right now.
He went off for 129 yards and a touchdown across eight catches and 10 targets in Week 7. If that wasn't enough for you, he also got three rushing attempts, gaining an additional 23 yards.
Concepcion has a couple solid showings this season, but a lack of touchdowns was holding him back. He produced at his highest level of his young career this week, and he's trending up now going into Week 8.
He is worth adding and utilizing in all deeper leagues, and he's also a standard league option now. Concepcion is a flex-level option in standard leagues, especially with other wideouts banged up or on bye weeks.
Consider adding him today and rolling with him until his production dips.
Tez Johnson - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Johnson was barely owned in any fantasy football leagues before Week 7.
He only got two targets this week, but he went for 33 yards and a touchdown across the two catches. Johnson had a 14-yard rush as well.
He hasn't been super involved this season, but now with Baker Mayfield back, maybe Johnson can get in a groove again, just like he was at times last season.
Johnson is an intriguing add, but only for deep leagues. If he keeps producing and catching TDs, he could eventually work into some standard leagues, so keep him in mind at the very least.
Malachi Fields - New York Giants
Fields was owned in only 4.94% of leagues before Week 7 kicked off, so he's widely available as well.
He had his best game yet this week, catching four of his targets for 83 yards. He had eight targets a week ago, so he appears to be trending up in the Giants' offense.
If he keeps producing, the rookie could work into more and more fantasy leagues. He's a better deep-league option for now, but another big game or two could get him into most leagues, so he's another to keep close tabs on.
Fields has a bit less upside than the wideouts we've discussed so far, as he's the No. 3 option, at best, right now behind Malik Nabers and Isaiah Likely.
Xavier Hutchinson - Houston Texans
Hutchinson is rostered in only 2.42% of fantasy leagues at the moment, so he's another widely available wideout to possibly add.
He had just three catches for 17 yards across six targets in Week 7, but a touchdown grab made for a solid fantasy outing. Hutchinson also had two rushes for 12 yards.
He's been steadily involved all season, but his yardage has dropped off big time the past two weeks. The TD was nice, but I wouldn't expect too many big outings from him moving forward.
Hutchinson has some deep-league appeal, but that's it. The only way he'd work into standard leagues is if the Texans were decimated by injuries.
