Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Loading Up on RBs in a 12-Team Non-PPR League

Let's do another fantasy football mock draft as the NFL preseason winds down and the regular season nears!

Here, we'll do another non-PPR mock draft through FantasySP. You can check out our other mock drafts here.

I got the No. 6 pick in this 12-team setup. The roster is as follows: one QB, two RBs, three WRs, one TE, one K, one DST and one FLEX, plus five bench spots. Let's see what we can do!

Round 1 - Jonathan Taylor 

I love Taylor as a fantasy asset, and especially in non-PPR formats. I think he's a great first-round pick, especially at No. 6.

He's a fantastic fantasy back to build around, and I think there's a good chance he outproduces this draft slot, so it makes the pick a home run in my eyes.

Round 2 - Derrick Henry

Henry is my second straight RB pick. How can you not be ecstatic about him and Taylor to start a non-PPR draft?

To prove my point, just look at last year's non-PPR fantasy leaders among flex positions. Henry was No. 6 a season ago, while Taylor was the top finisher. I'm feeling great after two rounds.

Round 3 - Malik Nabers

Nabers is my first non-RB pick. He's a bit of a risk coming off a major injury, but if he stays healthy, he could be a top-end fantasy asset again in 2026.

The injury to Calvin Austin creates a chance for Nabers to shine even more in 2026. Nabers was already going to star for a Giants' offense lacking proven playmakers, so getting him in round 3 could be another draft steal.

Round 4 - Lamar Jackson

This is about the point of the draft where my favorite players are off the board, and that came true again here. So I decided to take a quarterback early and grabbed Lamar.

Jackson is a top-end fantasy QB when healthy, and he's hoping for a bounceback year after an injury-plagued year in 2025. With Jackson and Henry, I should have pretty much all of the Ravens' running production in 2026.

Round 5 - Bhayshul Tuten

I love Tuten, as those of you who have been following mock drafts and fantasy football coverage this season probably already know.

As a fantasy RB3, I really see value in Tuten. I think he could be a great draft value near that draft slot. If he's truly the Jaguars' RB1, I don't see how he doesn't turn into a weekly fantasy stud.

Round 6 - Harold Fannin

I landed Fannin as my top tight end in round 6.

I like his outlook in the Browns' offense, even with question marks about the quarterback position. Fannin should be a weekly starter, but if there's value later on with a TE, I might take another.

Round 7 - RJ Harvey

I didn't plan on taking another running back, but Harvey fell 10 picks past his ADP, so I just had to take him.

As an RB4, I'm not needing Harvey to deliver big, but if he does, I could use him as trade bait to improve a position of need.

Round 8 - Alec Pierce

Pierce is my pick in the eighth round, and he's probably going to go earlier than that now that he's practicing again.

He's poised to take over as Indy's WR1, and if that happens, even getting him a round or so before this pick leaves room for Pierce to be a great fantasy value and another draft steal. He's a risky pick for me as a fantasy WR2, so I'll be adding more wideouts soon.

Round 9 - Jordan Addison

I got another wideout here with Addison. I got him right at his ADP.

As a WR3, I'm not feeling the best about Addison, but he's at least a weekly starting option, which is exactly what I needed right now. We'll see if he can surprise a bit and turn into a good draft value.

Round 10 - Dallas Goedert

I decided to take another tight end after all, with Goedert falling 14 picks past his ADP. 

He has a different bye week than Fannin, so these two tight ends should get me through the season. If Goedert and Fannin are both delivering, I could start both, with the second TE as my flex starter.

Round 11 - Zach Charbonnet

Charbonnet is one of my favorite late-round picks, so I simply had to take him when I saw him slip five picks past his ADP.

I'm stacked with running backs, and would almost certainly be moving one of them for a wideout at some point. Charbonnet is a great late fantasy pick, with an injury holding down his ADP, but him being a good weekly asset, even if he splits the backfield with Jadarian Price.

Round 12 - Omar Cooper

Receivers have really flown off the draft boards of late, so I'm reaching nearly 30 picks to grab Cooper.

The rookie is expected to start for the Jets, which isn't a great fantasy situation. I needed more wideout options, and Cooper is that for me. We'll see if he can surprise a bit and become a possible weekly starting option in time.

Round 13 - Jerry Jeudy

I landed another fantasy wideout here to cap my non-kicker and DST picks.

Jeudy isn't in a great situation, but with no proven wideouts on the team, maybe Jeudy has another decent season in him. I could have the top-two pass catchers in Cleveland with Fannin and Jeudy.

Round 14 - Brandon Aubrey

I was surprised to land Aubrey, but happy to get him.

I was just going to stream kickers all season, but now I should have that spot locked down for all but Aubrey's bye week.

Round 15 - Browns DST

I ended the draft by grabbing the Browns defense/special teams.

They were one of the top DSTs last year, so I'm hoping they can replicate that in 2026. If not, I'll just stream DSTs all season.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I was fairly pleased with my final roster here. I do feel like I made some mistakes along the way, but for a 12-team league, I think I have enough talent to make some noise.

Wide receiver is where I'm lacking, of course. Nabers is a fine first option, but he's a risk too. Pierce could be the make-or-break guy in that fantasy room for me.

Addison, Cooper and Jeudy are just hopeful weekly starting options. Hopefully, I can mix-and-match with those five guys, but realistically, I'd probably be trading another player to improve my wideout room before the season kicked off.

Running back is where I am strongest, and I think I could eventually have five starting options there. Taylor and Henry will power this fantasy team, and Tuten, Harvey and Charbonnet are pretty solid options too.

I'd look to trade one of those backs for a wide receiver before the season started up. I'd be willing to trade any back but Taylor, especially if it meant adding high-end fantasy wideouts to my team.

Jackson ended up being my only quarterback, and he's good enough to make the decision. Now I just have to hope he stays healthy, or I could really be scrambling with this roster.

I probably should have skipped Goedert as a second tight end and just gone with Fannin. I don't mind having two options there, in case Fannin doesn't pan out like most expect him to. It could be another position I trade from to improve my wideout room.

I'm good with the DST and K picks, but am fine streaming there if need be.

Overall, I have a few regrets from this mock, but still think I could contend for a playoff spot with this initial roster. With some in-season waiver adds, or a trade or two, I'd feel even better.
