Wild Card Round Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Where do Brock Purdy, Jalen Hurts and Jordan Love Rank?

Morgan ranks the 12 starting quarterbacks as fantasy football/DFS assets for the Wild Card Round of the NFL postseason.

With Wild Card Round playoff games closing in, let's keep looking at the top fantasy football/DFS options. Here, we will start ranking the top players at each position, starting with quarterbacks.

Also be sure to check out the fantasy football matchup article and projection story as well.

1. Josh Allen

Allen gets the top fantasy quarterback spot going into a battle with the Jaguars.

That's a slightly below-average test, but nothing too daunting, especially for a dual-threat star like Allen. He did not face the Jaguars in the regular season.

He was a top-end fantasy finisher again this season, and the top fantasy QB. It makes all the sense in the world again to trust him the most in the Wild Card Round, regardless of the matchup.

Expect Allen to put up plenty of fantasy points as he tries to help the Bills pull the upset on the road.

2. Brock Purdy

I am giving Purdy the No. 2 QB ranking for the week.

He'll have a below-average test against the Eagles. The teams did not meet during the regular season.

Purdy missed several games this season, but was really good in most of the weeks he was active for. He did end the season on a sour note, struggling to do much against a tough Seahawks' defense.

Purdy had been in a nice groove before that, and I think he gets back to that level of play despite a tougher test against Philly. Whether or not he finishes as QB2 this week will be determined by whether or not the Niners score through the air - if Christian McCaffrey runs for most of the scores, it might leave Purdy's fantasy score lacking.

3. Jalen Hurts

On the other end of the field in that game is Hurts, who I have ranked third for this week.

He wasn't the best fantasy asset this season, but he was still a top-10 option overall. Hurts has a slightly above-average test against the Niners.

San Fran is good at slowing running quarterbacks, so that works against Hurts a bit. A tush push touchdown or two could still lead to a big-time fantasy outing from Hurts, and if he can light it up as a passer, he has a chance to be QB1 this week.

Hurts just wasn't good enough this season to land my No. 1 ranking though. He could turn things on in the postseason though, so don't be afraid to fire him up, starting with this week.

4. Matthew Stafford

Stafford ranks fourth for me going into the Wild Card Round.

The Panthers are his matchup, and they are the sixth-toughest test for a fantasy quarterback. The teams faced off in week 13. Stafford had 243 passing yards and two touchdowns, but threw two interceptions and lost a fumble as well to have a rare down fantasy outing.

I think Stafford will fare better this time around. He's an MVP candidate for a reason, and had a very good fantasy season, so be confident in starting Stafford despite the tougher test.

5. Drake Maye

Maye is another big MVP candidate. He lands my No. 5 ranking despite finishing as QB2 on a per-game basis this season.

He ended the season strong, but has a brutal matchup against the Chargers this coming week. The teams did not meet in the regular season.

LA was the second-toughest fantasy test for a quarterback during the regular season, and is the toughest challenge among the playoff teams.

Maye delivered enough this season to be trusted as a fantasy asset, but temper expectations a bit in what could be a low-scoring game.

6. Trevor Lawrence

Lawrence gets the No. 6 ranking after a great finish to his regular season.

He will have a very tough test as well against the Bills. They were the fourth-toughest fantasy test during the regular season, so this will really be a fascinating battle.

Lawrence was arguably the best fantasy quarterback from week 13 on, so many are going to be confident in him for the Wild Card Round. Again, I'd say to temper expectations, as the Bills will be a tough test for him.

There's worse options out there and Lawrence also has high-end potential, so don't be afraid to fire him up.

7. Jordan Love

Love gets my No. 7 ranking, which is a scary thing considering he hasn't played a full game since week 15. He suffered a concussion early in week 16, which forced him to miss week 17. Love was rested in week 18 with the Packers' playoff fate already determined.

He will get a third matchup against the Bears. It's an above-average fantasy matchup for Love. Love had 234 passing yards, three touchdowns and an interception in the first matchup between the teams, before suffering the concussion in the second clash.

I like the matchup, and think Love is capable of finishing as one of the top-scoring fantasy QBs this week. Coming off a long layoff though, ranking him seventh just feels like the right move.

Consider him in DFS contests, as he should be a bit cheaper after his layoff.

8. Caleb Williams

On the other end of the Packers, Bears matchup is Williams, who I am ranking eighth.

The Packers are a bit tougher fantasy challenge, although the defense isn't nearly as daunting down Micah Parsons. Williams had 250 passing yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions and 30 rushing yards in the last matchup between the teams. He had 186 passing yards, two scores, an interception and 15 rushing yards in the first contest.

Williams has been up and down as a fantasy QB this season, so I'm not super high on him going into the postseason. He had a nice finish to the regular season, so this ranking feels fair for him.

9. Justin Herbert

Herbert gets my No. 9 ranking going into the Wild Card Round.

His matchup against the Patriots is below average, but nothing too daunting. Herbert was up and down as a fantasy asset after suffering a hand injury this season.

He's still capable of putting together big fantasy showings, but in a bit tougher matchup, I'm not a huge fan of him this coming week. Herbert could surprise if every Chargers' touchdown is a passing one, but I see him as a below-average option.

He might be a tempting DFS pick at a bit lower salary, and I'm not opposed to using him, but I have him ranked ninth for a reason, so don't put all your eggs in his basket.

10. C.J. Stroud

Stroud lands the No. 10 ranking for the first round of the postseason.

He has the best fantasy matchup of any quarterback this round. The Steelers are the sixth-best fantasy matchup for a quarterback, allowing 19 fantasy points per contest.

Stroud put together some solid fantasy outings this season, but was mostly average, or worse, in most games. I just don't trust him enough, despite a really favorable matchup.

He could surprise, and he will be another tempting DFS option at a cheaper price and with a favorable matchup, but only go that route if you want to be stacked at other positions.

11. Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers is the other half of that Houston, Pittsburgh matchup, and he gets the No. 11 ranking.

He had a nice finish to the season, but in a brutal test against the Texans, I wouldn't love starting Rodgers in a fantasy football postseason league or in a DFS contest.

The veteran is capable of putting up fantasy points against anyone, but this matchup is not one to test. It'd be a gamble to try Rodgers this week.

Expect this game to be a low-scoring affair, and Rodgers to be an average-or-worse fantasy QB unless he accounts for every Pittsburgh touchdown.

12. Bryce Young

Young lands last in the Wild Card Round quarterback fantasy rankings.

His matchup against the Rams is just below average, but I simply don't trust Young. He had 206 passing yards, three touchdowns and no picks, plus 23 rushing yards in the team's week 13 battle, but I don't see him replicating that performance.

Young could surprise again, but I'm just not a big fan of his fantasy outlook. I think he's going to struggle in a game the Rams control, but that could also mean he racks up volume stats while playing from behind.

Look elsewhere for a fantasy QB this week unless you feel like taking a massive gamble.
