Fantasy Football Quarterback Waiver Wire Options for Week 12: Bryce Young, Jacoby Brissett, Brock Purdy and More
Looking over some fantasy football waiver wire targets at quarterback going into week 12.
Week 11 of the NFL regular season is nearly in the books, so it's time to start turning our attention to week 12.
Here, we will begin looking at waiver wire options. I'll go over quarterbacks here. Check back for more waiver stories.

Should You Add Kirk Cousins?
Cousins took over for an injured Michael Penix in week 11 and finished with 48 passing yards on just 6-of-14 passing. He rushed for two yards on his lone attempt.
Penix was just placed on IR, so Cousins should start for the Falcons against the Saints, and for the foreseeable future. That will stack up as a pretty average matchup for the veteran Cousins.
Cousins is a more-than-capable backup, but it looks like he'll be without Drake London, so that will hurt his fantasy outlook. Cousins will be a deep-league fantasy option, and rank as a pretty average fantasy QB in this average matchup.
He is worth adding in a good amount of those leagues, even if you don't want to start him in week 12. Cousins could end up starting more than just one game, and maybe each game the rest of the season.
Should You Add Kyle Rudolph?
Rudolph replaced Aaron Rodgers on Sunday, and could start for him if Rodgers cannot play through a wrist injury.
Rudolph was 12-of-16 passing for 127 yards and a score, while avoiding a pick. He lost a yard on his lone rushing attempt.
Rudolph has started in the past, so he's not a terrible streaming option in deeper leagues. Of course, you'll want to see if Rodgers is out before adding him.
He would make a start against the Bears in week 12 if he starts for Rodgers. That's an above-average fantasy matchup for a quarterback, so Rudolph could be a sneaky good fantasy asset for week 12.
If Rodgers plays through the injury, he'd also be worth adding for this favorable matchup, even if he'd be risky to start with the injury concern.
Should You Add Shedeur Sanders?
Sanders replaced the injured Dillon Gabriel in week 11, and could start for him in week 12 if Gabriel doesn't pass concussion protocol.
Sanders was awful in relief, completing just four of his 16 passes for 47 yards, no touchdowns and a pick. He rushed three times for 16 yards.
I think he'd fare better in week 12 if he got a week of preparation, but after that showing, he will be a risky play, even in the deeper leagues out there.
He will have a slightly below-average matchup coming against the Raiders, although it could be a better matchup if Las Vegas is torched by Dallas on Monday night. The short week will also work in favor for whoever starts for Cleveland at QB.
Either will just be a deep-league starting option, but in a week where four teams will be on byes, the Cleveland starter might be a pretty solid deep-league asset. Keep an eye on Gabriel's status, but go into things expecting Sanders to get the week 12 start.
Should You Add Bryce Young?
Young erupted for 448 passing yards and three touchdowns in week 11 against Atlanta. He avoided a pick and lost a yard on his lone rushing attempt.
Young doesn't have many of those games, so it definitely looks like an outlier. Some will hope he can continue to trend upward and provide good fantasy value.
He gets an extra day off, as he will be taking on the 49ers on Monday night in week 12. San Fran is an above-average fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, so the chance for Young to build on this outing is definitely there.
Most will only trust him in deeper leagues, but again, with four teams off, Young will be a standard league streaming option. He at least needs to be starting in more deeper leagues off that big showing and going into a favorable matchup.
Give Young some consideration this week, but also don't overreact too much to his week 11 showing.
Should You Add Jacoby Brissett?
The Cardinals got smacked by the Niners on Sunday, but Brissett delivered another good fantasy outing.
He was 47-of-57 passing for 452 yards, two touchdowns and two picks. He lost two yards on two rushing attempts.
Brissett isn't going to pass that much every game, but he continued to be an above-average fantasy QB since taking over as the starter. Arizona is not good, and is playing from behind often, so that gives Brissett a nice fantasy outlook.
Arizona will be taking on the Jaguars in week 12. Jacksonville is an above-average fantasy matchup for quarterbacks, so Brissett is set up pretty well for the coming week.
He will be a very good deep-league asset for week 12, and will rank pretty well among all quarterbacks, so he's a standard league streaming option as well. I get if you don't want to trust him, but he's delivered again and again, so why not gamble on him, especially in a favorable matchup?
Should You Add Tyrod Taylor?
Taylor is set to start for the Jets, who are moving on from Justin Fields for the time being.
Taylor has appeared in three games this season, making one start. In that start, he was 26-of-36 passing for 197 yards, two touchdowns and a pick, while adding 48 rushing yards on eight carries. He also lost a fumble in that contest.
Taylor might not be the dual-threat option that Fields is, but he can run around enough and add some fantasy value that way. Taylor really isn't a half-bad fantasy QB for as long as he's starting.
He will have a slightly above-average test against the Ravens for his week 12 test. Baltimore has been much better of late though, so I see it as an average-or-worse matchup.
In deeper leagues, he's an option, but I'd stick away from him in standard leagues.
Should You Add Brock Purdy?
Purdy returned to the field finally in week 11, and he is a top-five fantasy QB to this point of the week.
He was 19-of-26 passing for 200 yards, three scores and no picks. He lost seven yards on his lone rushing attempt.
It was good to see Purdy back on the field, and even better to see him deliver like he did. He can be a top-end fantasy QB when healthy, so now is the chance to add him for free.
His week 12 matchup against the Panthers is a below-average matchup, but he'll definitely be a standard league option, and a really good deep-league option.
This isn't your typical fantasy QB with a lower own percentage. Purdy is a high-end fantasy QB when he's right, and he's worth adding and starting in all leagues for week 12 and beyond.
Should You Add Jordan Love?
Love had an injury scare in week 11, but returned and helped the Packers past the Giants.
He was 13-of-24 passing for 174 yards, two scores and no picks - his numbers would have been better if his pass catchers didn't drop a ton of passes. He gained seven yards on two rushing attempts.
Love was trending down as a fantasy asset after two rough showings, but he will be a top-eight fantasy QB, at worst, for week 11. The matchup was favorable, and the Packers' QB delivered.
Minnesota will be closer to an average matchup for him, and on a week where four QBs are on byes, Love will be an average-or-better fantasy asset, especially coming off a nice showing. Definitely give Love some consideration for a week 12 pickup and start, and that's for all league types.
Should You Add Marcus Mariota?
Mariota was solid despite the Commanders losing to the Dolphins in week 11.
He was 20-of-30 passing for 213 yards, a score and one pick, while rushing for 49 yards on four attempts. Mariota has been solid when given starts this season, and as long as he's starting, he's a deep-league fantasy asset, at least.
Unfortunately, he's not an option in week 12, as Washington is on their bye week. There's a chance Jayden Daniels returns for week 13 too, so I'd be against adding Mariota this week.
Only add Mariota going into week 13 if Daniels is still expected to miss another game.
Should You Add Trevor Lawrence?
Lawrence was 14-of-22 passing for 153 yards, a touchdown and a pick in the team's lopsided win over the Chargers. He added a rushing score and nine yards on five rushing attempts.
Lawrence has been average-or-better in five of the past six games, so he's a bit underrated as a fantasy asset right now. Most will only trust him in deeper leagues, and that's where I'm at too, but in the right situations, he can be a standard league asset too.
His clash against Arizona will be a bit tougher one, at least on paper. We'll see if he can keep delivering, just like he did in a tough test against LA this past week.
