Fantasy Football Tight End Waiver Wire Options for Week 10: Colston Loveland, Dalton Schultz, Cade Otton and More

We just went over some fantasy football waiver wire options at quarterback going into week 10, and now will discuss some waiver options at the tight end spot.

Should You Add Luke Musgrave?

Musgrave will presumably take over the top tight end role for the Packers after the season-ending injury to Tucker Kraft. 

Musgrave hasn't done a ton this season, but with Kraft out, the opportunity will be there for him to step into a larger role. He'll be tough to start in fantasy leagues until he shows a little something though.

Unfortunately, his first matchup as the lead tight end will be against the Eagles on Monday night in week 10. That's a very tough matchup, and one to avoid, if possible. 

You can add Musgrave in some deeper leagues in case he shines in the lead TE role, but I'd avoid starting him until he actually delivers a time or two. Definitely try to avoid him in this brutal matchup.

Should You Add Colston Loveland?

Loveland exploded for 118 yards and two scores on six catches and seven targets in week 9. He had a stellar matchup against the Bengals, and took advantage of it.

Now we will see if he can build on that performance and emerge as a weekly fantasy asset. He has a below-average test coming against the Giants, so this will be a good test for the rookie.

Loveland will be added in probably all deeper leagues after his week 9 showing. That's just the nature of the weak TE spot. He will be worth starting in those deeper leagues, even in a tougher week 10 test.

He'll maybe be added in some standard leagues as well, although I'd try to avoid starting him in week 10. Some might not have any better options, but I'd really like to see the rookie put together another good fantasy showing before using him in standard leagues.

If you don't add him now, you might miss out on him next week, so it's not crazy to add and stash him for week 10.

Should You Add Mark Andrews?

Andrews had 22 yards, but two scores, on two grabs and three targets back on Thursday night. Andrews added four rushing yards on two attempts.

It was another lackluster game from a yardage and usage standpoint, but the two scores helped him to a great fantasy score. He has a good matchup coming in week 10 against the Vikings, which is another reason he's a waiver wire option.

I'm still going to feel safest starting him in deeper leagues, but in the favorable matchup, it's not crazy to want to start Andrews. He has a favorable schedule ahead too, so I'm all for adding him back in all leagues, even if you don't need to start him every week.

He could become a better trade asset in time, or just be an insurance policy in case your top tight end gets injured or slows down as a fantasy asset.

Should You Add Dalton Schultz?

Despite C.J. Stroud being knocked out on Sunday, Schultz still delivered with Davis Mills at QB for Houston. That should make it easier to add and maybe utilize Schultz for week 10.

He had 77 yards on six receptions and eight targets in week 9. It was one of his best fantasy showings, and the third time in the past four games that he's scored double-digit fantasy points.

Schultz is a sneaky good fantasy asset, and could be utilized in all leagues in week 10. I like him best in deeper leagues, but wouldn't hate starting him in some standard leagues.

Jacksonville is his matchup, and they struggle mightily to slow fantasy tight ends - only Cincinnati is worse. That gives Schultz great streaming value for week 10, so definitely give him some consideration.

Should You Add Juwan Johnson?

Johnson delivered again in week 9, going for 31 yards and a touchdown on three catches and four targets.

He's scored in double figures in three straight games, so he's not a half-bad streaming option for week 10. New Orleans needs all the help they can get offensively, and Johnson looks like he's here to stay.

Carolina is his matchup in week 10, and that's a favorable matchup for a fantasy TE. I like Johnson in deeper leagues, and wouldn't be opposed to starting him in standard leagues in week 10.

Don't write him off just because he's on a poor offense. He's been a solid asset of late, and the game sets up pretty well for Johnson.

Should You Add Cade Otton?

Otton and Buccaneers had their bye in week 9, which was good timing with all the injuries they've dealt with.

The wide receiver room is decimated, so Otton has taken on more of late. He should be pretty involved the rest of the season as a result.

He will take on the Patriots in week 10 - New England is another favorable matchup on paper, so Otton could shine in this one.

I think he'll be overlooked a bit, but could be a worthwhile starter in any league types. I like him better in deeper leagues, but wouldn't hate starting him in standard leagues too.

Should You Add AJ Barner or Elijah Arroyo?

Barner and Arroyo each scored a touchdown in week 9, so they are waiver options for week 10.

Barner had 24 receiving yards on three catches and four targets, while rushing for a one-yard score. Arroyo caught both of his targets for 29 yards and a score.

Arizona is the matchup for the tight ends in week 10. It's another favorable matchup, which is why I listed both guys here.

With each other's presence, they are better deep-league assets. It would help if Cooper Kupp also missed that game, like he did in week 9.

If Kupp is out, both Barner and Arroyo would be standard league possibilities, but I'd still only want to use them in deeper leagues. They just haven't delivered enough to be worth starting in standard leagues.

Should You Add Theo Johnson?

Johnson went for 27 yards and a touchdown on three catches and six targets in week 9. He took on a bit more with not many playmakers remaining for the Giants, and that could continue for the rest of the season.

Johnson will be taking on Chicago in week 10. The Bears are a pretty average matchup for a tight end, so Johnson should rank as an average-or-so option for the coming week.

Again, he's another guy I like better in deeper leagues, but with how many guys I've said that about, some might end up starting him in a standard league.

At least he gets a little consideration this coming week.

Should You Add Harold Fannin or David Njoku?

Cleveland was off in week 9, so each tight end should be rested.

Fannin has been trending up over the past couple weeks, while Njoku has been playing through an injury. The bye wasn't great timing for Fannin owners, while it was nice for Njoku to get some extra rest, and maybe put the injury in the past.

The Jets are the matchup for the Browns in week 10, and it's a pretty average test. Both Fannin and Njoku are decent fantasy assets for the coming week, but their usage could go down a bit if Cedric Tillman returns from injury - that's something to keep an eye on.

I like Fannin over Njoku at this point. I am good starting Fannin in all league types. Njoku could start in any league type, but I prefer him more in deeper leagues at this point.

We'll see if we get any more answers about the best fantasy TE going forward in week 10.
