Top Scorers
Los Angeles Chargers' Troy Dye, Philadelphia's Zack Baun and Denver's Nik Bonitto were among the IDP leaders in week 5's Sunday games.
Dye had 11 tackles in the team's loss to the Commanders. Three of those tackles went for losses. He has 36 tackles, the three TFLs and a sack through five weeks, so he's been a steady IDP option so far.
Baun had a sack among his 12 tackles, and had two QB hits in total, during the team's loss to the Broncos. He has a sack in back-to-back games and 42 tackles on the season, so those numbers alone make him a good IDP option, at least.
Bonitto only had four tackles, but he finished with three QB hits and 2.5 sacks. He has at least one sack in all but one game, and he has seven sacks overall. Bonitto's 17 tackles don't stand out, but on sack upside alone, he should be rostered and utilized in a lot of IDP leagues.
Top Tacklers
Dallas' Shemar James and Baltimore's Teddye Buchanan had 15 total tackles each on Sunday.
James was playing in just his second game of his young career, and delivered a great showing. He had five tackles in his first game. His week 5 performance should definitely get him on the IDP radar, and he could rise in a hurry, so act now if you want to add the rookie.
Buchanan is another rookie whose value will rise after this outing. He now has 40 tackles on the season, and he's posted at least six tackles in four straight games, so he's another IDP on the rise.
Washington's Bobby Wagner posted 14 tackles on Sunday. He has double-digit tackles in every game of the season, and 56 tackles overall. Even without any other splash plays, those tackle numbers would make Wagner a must-start IDP every week.
Miami's Jordyn Brooks finished with 13 tackles and a half sack. He has 57 tackles on the season, showing his high IDP upside. Brooks should be starting in just about every league at this point.
Multiple Sacks
After Bonitto, several other defensive players had over one sack on Sunday.
Arizona's Josh Sweat had two sacks among his four tackles. He has at least once sack in four straight games now and has five for the season overall. Sweat has 12 tackles, so he's sack dependent, but worth rostering in a good amount of IDP leagues because of his consistency.
Washington's Dorance Armstrong had two sacks among his three tackles. He has at least one sack in all but one game and five overall as well. Armstrong has 22 tackles, so he's a bit better IDP option than Sweat.
Cleveland's Maliek Collins had two sacks for his lone tackles on Sunday. He had 1.5 sacks back in week 3, so he has 3.5 sacks overall now. Collins has 12 total tackles, so he's got the lowest IDP value of the guys with multiple sacks we've discussed.
Baltimore's Trey Hendrickson had two sacks and a forced fumble among his two tackles on Sunday. He has four sacks and 13 tackles on the season, plus the forced fumble, so that shows his IDP upside.
Tennessee's Jeffery Simmons had 1.5 sacks among his eight tackles. He has 3.5 sacks and 22 tackles overall, so he's a bit better IDP option.
Washington's Von Miller had 1.5 sacks among his three tackles. He's got three sacks and seven tackles overall, so he's just an IDP option in deeper setups.
Dallas' James Houston had 1.5 sacks among his three tackles. He has 3.5 sacks overall, along with 11 total tackles, so there's some IDP value here, but not a ton either.
Other IDP Standouts
Detroit's Jack Campbell had a forced fumble among his 11 total tackles. He's up to 48 tackles for the season, which is enough value already to start him in most IDP leagues.
New Orleans' Demario Davis had 10 tackles and a forced fumble, plus a pass defensed. He has 48 tackles overall this season, so he's another good weekly option.
Baltimore's Trenton Simpson had a sack among his 10 tackles. He has 21 tackles and the sack overall this season, so this is probably a bit of an outlier performance. He's still worth adding in a lot of IDP leagues now.
Houston's Jalen Pitre had four tackles and two interceptions to help the Texans to a lopsided win. He has 22 tackles and three picks overall, so while there's some boom-or-bust to his game, he's worth some IDP ownership.
New Orleans' Kool-Aid McKinstry had two interceptions, three passes defensed overall and four tackles in the team's win on Sunday. He has 20 tackles overall, but most of the other stats are from this week. He's going to gain a little IDP traction after this outing though.
Tampa Bay's Lavonte David tallied nine tackles and picked off a pass as well. He has 34 tackles, 1.5 sacks, the pick and two passes defensed, so you can see his overall IDP value.
Miami's Minkah Fitzpatrick had an interception and nine tackles on Sunday. He has 33 tackles and the pick, plus three passes defensed overall, so he's another solid weekly IDP option.
Washington's Mike Sainristil had a pick, nine tackles and two passes defensed this week. He has 29 tackles, two picks and three passes defensed overall, so he's rising a bit as an IDP option.
New Orleans' Jordan Howden went for four tackles, but scooped up a fumble and returned it for a touchdown - the return was 86 yards. He has just eight tackles over four games, so he's just a deep-league IDP option for now.
