Kickers are inconsistent fantasy animals. Only one player has hit double-digit fantasy points all four weeks, and that's Indianapolis' Spencer Shraderwho is K1; just three other guys have reached double digits in three of the four weeks. There is a lot of randomness that goes into finding the top fantasy kickers.

The best we can do is look for a positive matchup and hope the offense stalls often enough for a good fantasy week for our guy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't; it's the most random part of a random game.

Let's look at three kickers (and a bonus) with good matchups in Week 5 who are widely available in fantasy leagues and can be picked up and inserted into your lineup. Most stats are from NFL.com.

Check out FantasySP's defensive rankings to find the players with the best matchups each week.

Tyler Bass, Buffalo Bills

I'm just going to mention Bass quickly: he started the season on IR and is eligible to come back for Week 5. If he does return, he is one of the top fantasy kickers around simply by virtue of being Buffalo's kicker.

If he's still out, Matt Prater will continue in his role for the Bills; he is owned in just over 50% of leagues and might still be available. Bass is a sneaky pickup who could end up being a weekly option if you're able to grab him right when he returns.

Nick Folk, New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys

Dallas has allowed the second-most points through four weeks, just one less than the Ravens for the top spot. The Cowboys have especially been vulnerable to the pass, allowing more yards per pass attempt than any other team.

I'm not big on the rankings of fantasy points allowed to kickers; there's so much randomness that goes into field goals and when the biggest kicks come, so I'm more worried about the total points a team allows, not the fantasy points. That being said, the Cowboys have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to kickers.

Folk continues to be very good late in his career. He has made 84.5% of the field goals in his career and was over 95% in each of the past two seasons. He hasn't missed a kick in 2025 (seven field goals and seven extra points). It's more about the team getting in position to score than Folk actually executing.

The Jets have the worry of being a low-scoring offense at times, but they have found success against the Steelers, Buccaneers, and Dolphins. They turned the ball over three times against Miami, sealing their fate, but the Jets moved the ball well before hurting themselves.

With a good matchup, New York has the chance at another good week, and that could set Folk up for success against the Cowboys. Folk made both his field goal attempts and his only extra point try on Monday night.

Jude McAtamney, New York Giants @ New Orleans Saints

Graham Gano went on IR with a groin injury, so McAtamney was elevated from the practice squad for Week 4. He made both of his field goal attempts (22 yards and 31 yards) and his only extra point and would seemingly keep the role, though the team did sign Younghoe Koo, which bears watching.

The matchup is the real star here, as the Saints have been a below-average defense. They are right in the middle against the run, but New Orleans has allowed the sixth-most yards per pass attempt and sixth-most points per game.

There's a real worry of the New York offense not playing well enough to put the kicker in position to score. Rookie Jaxson Dart is now starting under center for the Giants, and while the team won his first start, he played below-average football, mostly finding success with his legs. This is a real concern and something that lowers the value of McAtamney.

This game is indoors in New Orleans, so the conditions will be perfect, one less thing to worry about. I'm still concerned about counting on McAtamney, though, given his inexperience and the uncertainty around New York's offense. McAtamney is more of a deep-league streamer or a guy with a really good matchup if you're without other options.

Chad Ryland, Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans

Ryland has been a favorite on the kicker streamer list early in the season, as the Cardinals have had a friendly schedule against the likes of the Saints, Panthers, and now Titans. Those are likely to be three of the top 10 picks in next year's draft.

In kind, Ryland has gotten his opportunities to score, sitting just one point outside the top 10 fantasy kickers. He has been a perfectly reasonable fantasy kicker while making eight of 10 field goals and all eight extra points. Of course we'd rather have all 10 FGs made, but both of Ryland's misses were from over 40 yards.

Tennessee has struggled mightily on offense with rookie quarterback Cameron Ward, but they have also been worse than average defensively, allowing the seventh-most yards per rush attempt, 10th-most yards per pass attempt, and seventh-most points per game. The offense isn't setting up the defense for success, but the D is doing their share of weak play.

Ryland has a good matchup and is playing at home where there's a retractable roof, so he'll be playing in ideal conditions. If you're without a good kicking option, Ryland is likely to have at least another decent week.
