Week 4 of the NFL regular season is wrapping up on Monday, but for those looking to get an early jump on week 5 waivers, this is the place for you.

Here, we will discuss fantasy football waiver wire options. Check back for more waiver wire content!

Should You Add Matthew Stafford?

Stafford is coming off his best performance of the season, so it shouldn't surprise you to see him listed here.

He threw for 375 yards, three scores and no interceptions on 29-of-41 passing against the Eagles in week 4. Stafford rushed for four yards on four carries.

Through four games, Stafford has completed 67.6% of his passes, and is averaging 278.5 passing yards per game. He has eight touchdowns and just two picks.

Stafford might be 37 years old, but he still has some gas in the tank. More importantly, he's got some great offensive players around him, to make life a little easier.

I've been a fan of Stafford as a fantasy asset on and off over the past couple seasons. He's just outside the top 10 so far on average, so it makes sense to see more and more fantasy owners adding him.

He will take on the Niners in a Thursday night game in week 5. That's one of the tougher matchups out there, but so was facing the Eagles, so fantasy owners shouldn't be all that worried about the veteran QB.

Should You Add Carson Wentz?

Wentz had mixed results in a week 4 loss to the Steelers. He threw for 350 yards and two scores on 65.2% passing, but also threw two picks and needed 46 passing attempts to get to where he did. He rushed for 12 yards on two scrambles.

He's been better than most expected through two starts, and as long as he's the Vikings' starting QB, he has some legit fantasy value. Throwing to Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson and others isn't a bad thing by any means.

He has a clash against the Browns in week 4. Cleveland has been a tougher test for fantasy quarterbacks so far, but struggled a bit against the Lions in week 4.

Wentz is going to be a bit more trustworthy than some of the younger QBs we are about to discuss, so keep him in mind when looking over week 5 waiver/streaming options.

Should You Add Jaxson Dart?

Dart helped guide the Giants to one of the surprise wins of the week. New York toppled the previously unbeaten Los Angeles Chargers.

Dart was solid in his first NFL start, completing 13 of his 20 pass attempts for 111 yards, a score and no picks. He rushed 10 times for 54 yards and a score.

That was a tough matchup for the rookie quarterback, so overall, I'd say Dart did pretty well, even if he doesn't jump off the page as a fantasy asset.

His dual-threat ability gives him a little fantasy boost every week, and now that we know what he's capable of, he's a bit more trustworthy going forward.

Dart has a super favorable matchup against the Saints in week 5, so he will be added and utilized this coming week for that reason alone. This is one of those situations where you are adding a QB in hopes of a strong week, but it's a pickup that could turn into a move that solidifies your QB spot for the rest of the season.

Give Dart a chance, especially in deeper leagues, in week 5, and then assess things from there.

Should You Add Michael Penix?

Talk about a bounceback performance. Penix was really good in week 4, a week after he looked terrible.

He completed 20-of-26 passes for 313 yards, two scores and a pick to help the Falcons past the Commanders. Penix rushed for two yards on four attempts.

He's now had two pretty good fantasy outings, and two below-average-or-worse outings. That makes it a bit tougher to trust the young quarterback, but at least he's back on the rise after week 4.

The Falcons are one of four teams on a bye week in week 5, so adding Penix now is a long-term move, not someone who could help you in week 5. He should be on the rise after this performance though, so don't be surprised if he gets scooped up in your league.

If you need a backup, or a weekly streaming option, adding Penix isn't the worst idea.

Should You Add C.J. Stroud?

Stroud had one of his better showings in recent memory on Sunday to help the Texans to their first win. They shut out the Titans.

Stroud completed 22 of his 28 passes for 233 yards, two scores and no interceptions. He also rushed four times for 11 yards.

Stroud was under 210 passing yards in his first three games, so this was a nice bump up. He had two touchdowns and three picks across the first three weeks, so this TD-to-INT ratio was really positive for him. Maybe this will be the performance that sparks him back closer to that QB he was as a rookie.

Anyways, he will go up against the Ravens in week 5. Talk about a big game - the loser there will be 1-4.

Baltimore has been one of the most favorable fantasy matchups for a quarterback so far. Stroud isn't the most trustworthy, but after his week 4 outing, he's at least a little more trustworthy.

I'd be fine giving him some deep-league starts in week 5, and maybe even considering him in standard leagues, since there will be four less QBs to choose from. We'll see if he can build on things.

Should You Add Bryce Young?

Young didn't perform his best in week 4, but his numbers weren't as bad as they could have been for a QB whose team got beat 42-13.

He completed 18 of his 30 passes for 150 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions. Young rushed for three yards on his lone rushing attempt.

Young has 154 or less passing yards in three of four games now, which is more alarming than anything else. He has five touchdown passes and three picks - three of the TDs came in one week, but he's gone back-to-back games without an INT.

He's listed here for a couple reasons. Of course, he's a better option in week 5 with four quarterbacks on their bye weeks. He also has a stellar matchup against the Dolphins to take advantage of.

I understand if you don't want to trust Young - I really don't either. However, he's a better option than you think in his upcoming matchup, and could at least be making some deep-league starts.

Should You Add Sam Darnold?

Darnold is another QB with a favorable matchup in week 5. He gets the Buccaneers.

Back on Thursday, he was 18-of-26 passing for 242 yards, a touchdown and no picks. He rushed for 24 yards on his lone scramble.

Darnold has at least 215 passing yards in three straight games, and he has five touchdowns and two picks in that span. He's a bit better fantasy option than most think, and in a favorable matchup, he's a player to possibly add and utilize.

Ideally, the Seahawks and Bucs get locked in a back-and-forth, high-scoring affair, but even if the Seattle offense isn't at full throttle, I see Darnold being a pretty good option in week 5.
