Erik Miller battles control issues despite high-leverage opportunities in Boston's bullpen

Miller has run into turbulent waters recently, surrendering five earned runs and six walks over 3.1 innings across his last 14 days. Despite the slump, he remains the Red Sox's primary setup option, and with closer Aroldis Chapman currently questionable due to a lat strain, Miller could see ninth-inning chances for an 84-72 Boston club fighting for wild-card positioning.

While his 14.52 ERA over the past two weeks is alarming, his underlying swing-and-miss stuff remains intact with an elite 14.86 K/9 across 44.2 frames this year. His full-season 3.26 ERA is much closer to our baseline projections, though persistent command problems ensure his ratios will remain volatile whenever his fastball command wavers.

Boston hosts six games this week against Cleveland and the Cubs, presenting ample leverage spots if the Red Sox can snap their two-game skid. However, our models project a shaky 5.79 ERA and 1.76 WHIP over 2.1 projected innings, making him far too risky for standard mixed leagues unless you are desperately chasing holds. Sit.
