Over his last three starts spanning 16.2 innings, he has pitched to a respectable 4.44 ERA and an exceptional 1.11 WHIP. His steady presence is a welcome sight for fantasy managers looking for stability amidst Detroit's pitching chaos.

While our rest-of-season models project a more conservative 4.50 ERA and 1.34 WHIP, Montero's current 4.08 ERA and elite 1.06 WHIP through 12 starts show real growth from his 4.73 ERA rookie mark.
