Outlook Wade Meckler
Wade Meckler rides a red-hot bat into a secure, everyday outfield role for the Angels.
Meckler is scorching hot, batting .340 with two homers and two steals over his last 15 games, including a sparkling .421 average over the last week. Slotting in as the everyday starter in left field, his playing time is fully secure with designated hitter Jorge Soler sidelined on the injured list. He remains a bright spot for a last-place Angels squad that currently sits at 25-41 in the AL West.
While our conservative season projection expected a modest .229 average with limited power, Meckler's stellar on-base skills and elite 1.132 OPS over the last week show his real-world growth. He will inevitably face some regression from his current .340 batting average, but his excellent plate discipline and contact-oriented approach make this breakout look like a highly sustainable run.
The Angels play six home games this week, starting with three against Houston followed by three against Tampa Bay. He will face tough matchups against Spencer Arrighetti and Shane McClanahan, but can exploit weaker arms like Kai-Wei Teng and Griffin Jax. Given his outstanding form and steady playing time, Meckler is a fantastic option to stream.
