Mathew Barzal | Fantasy Outlook
Barzal remains sidelined with knee injury ahead of road clash in Ottawa
Mathew Barzal remains sidelined tonight as the Islanders visit Canadian Tire Centre to face the Senators. The veteran playmaker is officially out on injured reserve due to a knee issue sustained late last month. With Barzal inactive, fantasy managers have reacted accordingly, dropping his active start rate down to 6% despite an 84% rostered mark. New York enters the road matchup as slight underdogs in an average scoring environment, where they are scheduled to face Linus Ullmark (confirmed) in goal for Ottawa.
With Barzal unavailable for game action, our daily projection reflects no ice time, translating to a low point expectation and light shot volume across all formats. Looking at the weekly slate, the Islanders are in the middle of a three-game schedule with one game remaining after tonight against Toronto, but our data projects no fantasy points for Barzal until he returns to action. Keep him stashed on injured reserve until further notice. Today’s action: Bench.
