Ilya Sorokin | Fantasy Outlook
Sorokin tests stellar recent form against Lightning at UBS Arena
Confirmed as tonight’s starter, Ilya Sorokin leads the Islanders into UBS Arena to host the Tampa Bay Lightning. Sorokin has been in peak form as New York's primary starter, carrying a sparkling 1.00 GAA and .965 save percentage with two wins and a shutout over his last three outings. Fantasy managers have taken note, bumping his active start rate up eight points to 93%. The Islanders (2–2–0) enter as home underdogs in a projected lower-scoring environment against a potent Tampa Bay roster (3–1–0), lining up an elite duel opposite Andrei Vasilevskiy (unconfirmed).
Our projections anticipate a challenging test, forecasting roughly ~26–27 saves with elevated ratio risk and a modest win chance against Tampa’s attack. Tonight closes out the Islanders' three-game weekly schedule, where Sorokin has handled the lion's share of netminding duties. Even with New York missing key pieces like Mathew Barzal, Sorokin's high save floor and exceptional shot-stopping ability keep his fantasy ceiling elevated in all standard leagues. You shouldn't hesitate to deploy your top netminder here. Today’s action: Strong Start.
