Casey DeSmith | Fantasy Outlook
DeSmith confirmed in net as Stars host Devils at American Airlines Center
Casey DeSmith draws the confirmed start between the pipes tonight as the Stars host the Devils at American Airlines Center. Operating as the backup behind regular starter Jake Oettinger, DeSmith has been steady when called upon, carrying a 2.00 GAA and .926 save percentage from his recent action. Dallas enters the matchup at 7-3-1 as slight home favorites against a 7-4-0 New Jersey squad in what projects as a balanced scoring environment. It will be a challenging assignment, however, as DeSmith is locked into a goaltending duel vs Connor Hellebuyck (confirmed).
Our projection anticipates a solid showing for DeSmith tonight, expecting roughly 29 saves, a respectable .910 save percentage, and a modest win chance to produce about 4.6 fantasy points. Looking at the broader week, Dallas has three total games scheduled, leaving two remaining after tonight where Oettinger is likely to handle the primary duties. While DeSmith's weekly volume is inherently limited by his backup role, tonight presents a viable streaming window for fantasy managers seeking goalie starts. Today’s action: Stream.
