Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings for Week 16: C.J. Stroud, Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson and More
Morgan gives his week 16 fantasy football rankings for quarterbacks.
There might not be any more NFL bye weeks, but we seem to lose fantasy football players to injuries with each passing week, making it still seem like there are bye weeks.
In this article, let's start our week 16 rankings by looking at the quarterback position.
This past week, we lost Patrick Mahomes and Jayden Daniels as options, so some of these rankings might surprise you.
Check out week 16 fantasy football projections for quarterbacks on FantasySP as well.
1. Jalen Hurts
Hurts got back on track in week 15, so he's back to being a safe fantasy starting option.
A great matchup against the Commanders awaits Hurts, so he gets the top fantasy QB spot in week 16.
2. Josh Allen
Allen was good again last week, and is the top fantasy QB this season.
He only falls to the No. 2 spot despite a tougher test against the Browns.
3. Drake Maye
Maye was pretty good last week despite not leading his team to victory.
He has a slightly below-average test coming against the Ravens, so I wouldn't be worried about the breakout fantasy star.
Herbert has the best fantasy matchup possible against the Cowboys, so I had to include him in my top 5.
He has been below average as a fantasy asset since injuring his hand, but this matchup is too juicy not to take advantage of.
5. Joe Burrow
Burrow was not good in week 15, but a pretty nice matchup in week 16 against the Dolphins is a chance for him to bounce back.
I see Burrow and the Bengals' offense going off this coming week.
6. Brock Purdy
Prudy delivered big in week 15, and he could again in week 16 against the Colts on Monday night.
It's a slightly below-average matchup on paper, but I like Purdy and the Niners' offense to move the ball and put up points, so the fantasy QB should deliver a nice fantasy score.
Brissett has been one of the more steady fantasy QBs since taking over as the Cardinals' starter.
A pretty average matchup against the Falcons is next for him, and I see Brissett scoring like he has the past several weeks.
Stafford could have a bit tougher challenge in week 16. Not only does he have a tougher test against the Seahawks, but he might be without Davante Adams too.
I still am comfortable starting Stafford in this matchup, but he's not a locked-in starter.
9. Dak Prescott
Prescott was slowed a bit this past week, so he'll be looking to bounce back in week 16.
The Chargers are a very tough challenge, but I expect Prescott to bounce back and get the job done for fantasy owners.
10. Jordan Love
Love was solid in a tough matchup against the Broncos in week 15.
He gets the Bears again this week, after just throwing for 234 yards and three touchdowns against them in week 14. Chicago is an above-average matchup on paper, and even if Christian Watson is out, I see Love delivering a top-10 fantasy score this week.
11. Jared Goff
Goff was a good fantasy asset in week 15, and he should be again in week 16 against Pittsburgh.
The Steelers are an above-average matchup for a fantasy QB, so he could easily be in the top 10, or even top five, by the end of the week.
12. C.J. Stroud
Stroud delivered a big fantasy score in week 15, and I could see him doing something similar in week 16.
Las Vegas is his matchup, and it's an average one from a fantasy perspective, so we'll see if Stroud can deliver a second straight big showing.
13. Trevor Lawrence
Lawrence was special in week 15, accounting for six touchdowns.
The only thing working against him is a tougher test against the Broncos, but after his most recent performance, you should be a bit more willing to give Lawrence a go.
14. Jaxson Dart
Dart delivered a solid fantasy score again in week 15.
Minnesota will be a tougher test for him in week 16, but I like the dual-threat rookie to get the job done for fantasy owners.
15. Caleb Williams
I'm not really high on Williams at this point, so it confuses me to see him in the top 10 on other ranking lists.
He has a tougher test against the Packers, but that matchup isn't as bad now with Micah Parsons out for the season. Williams had 186 passing yards, two touchdowns, an interception and 15 rushing yards in the last clash with Green Bay, so an average ranking seems fair for this coming week.
16. Bo Nix
Nix delivered big in week 15, but I still have him as an average option for week 16.
A slightly above-average test against the Jaguars is next, so we'll see if Nix can make me look foolish again.
17. J.J. McCarthy
McCarthy is trending up as the season winds down.
He has a chance to continue trending up in a super favorable matchup against the Giants.
18. Baker Mayfield
Mayfield got some receivers back in week 15, and delivered his best fantasy mark in six weeks.
Carolina is a tougher matchup on paper, which is why Mayfield falls to my 18th slot this week.
19. Lamar Jackson
I'm down on Jackson, and I'm not sure if he'll change my mind before the end of the season.
He was OK in week 15 in a great matchup, so I see him below average in week 16 in a slightly above-average clash against the Patriots.
20. Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers has turned things up a notch the past two weeks, so I hope I didn't underrank him.
He has a great matchup coming against the Lions, so I'd be happy to start him in deeper leagues.
21. Sam Darnold
Darnold had a lackluster fantasy showing in week 15 without a touchdown.
The Rams are a below-average fantasy test for him, so this feels like the best spot to rank Darnold.
22. Tyler Shough
Shough has quietly been an above-average fantasy QB over the past three weeks, and he has above-average finishes in four of the past five contests.
A pretty favorable test against the Jets awaits, so again, Shough is another decent deep-league starter in my eyes.
23. Bryce Young
Young was OK in week 15 in a big loss for Carolina.
Tampa Bay is a great matchup on paper, but I just don't trust Young to rank him any higher. He's still a deep-league starting option in my eyes.
24. Tua Tagovailoa
Tagovailoa was so-so in week 15, but as long as he keeps his starting role, I could see him going off in week 16.
A great matchup against the Bengals is why Tagovailoa could shine. I don't trust him enough to rank him any higher though.
If Zach Wilson or Quinn Ewers starts for Tagovailoa, I'd drop them below the next three ranked quarterbacks.
25. Kirk Cousins
Cousins broke out in week 15, which gives him deep-league upside down the stretch.
A slightly below-average matchup against the Cardinals is what holds me back from ranking him any higher.
26. Marcus Mariota
Mariota delivered an average fantasy score in week 15.
A tougher test against Philly awaits in week 16, so I'm not high on Mariota, and would try to stay away from him, and everyone else on these rankings.
27. Gardner Minshew
Minshew will replace Mahomes as the Chiefs' starter in week 16.
Tennessee is a pretty favorable matchup for him, but I just wouldn't want to trust Minshew leading an already eliminated Chiefs' squad.
28. Philip Rivers
Rivers didn't do a ton in his season debut in week 15, but he did enough to move him up a couple spots in my rankings.
An above-average test on Monday against San Fran is a chance for Rivers to settle in and deliver more fantasy points, so we'll see if he can.
29. Cameron Ward
Ward was pretty average as a fantasy asset in week 15, and it'd be nice to see him continue that down the stretch.
Kansas City is a tougher matchup, but probably not as daunting now that the team is eliminated. We'll see if Ward can surprise this week.
30. Shedeur Sanders
Sanders regressed hard in week 15, scoring about 30 less fantasy points than he did in week 14.
Buffalo is a stiff test for him, so I'm not a fan of Sanders at all in week 16.
31. Jets' Starter
Whoever starts for the Jets would get the No. 31 ranking. Tyrod Taylor, Justin Fields and Brady Cook are the options.
Whoever starts gets a below-average test against a surging Saints' defense.
32. Raiders' Starter
Whether it's Geno Smith or Kenny Pickett starting, I have both ranked 32nd for week 16.
Houston is the toughest fantasy test for a QB, so you can see why I'd rank the Raiders' starting QB last this week.
