Should You Add Jared Goff?
Goff put a slow start to the season in the rearview mirror in a hurry. He absolutely torched the Bears, throwing for 334 yards, five scores and no picks.
It appears as week 1 was just a bump in the road against a Packers' defense that looks really good. Goff and the Lions' offense could still be a top-end unit in 2025.
Goff gets the Baltimore Ravens in week 3. The Ravens have allowed a good amount of fantasy points to quarterbacks through two weeks, and Goff will be in line to keep that rolling.
Goff is not only a good option for week 3, but he's a good long-term fantasy asset too. I'd add him now and enjoy his success this season.
Should You Add Russell Wilson?
Russ was fantastic in week 2 against the Cowboys, throwing for 450 yards and three scores. He threw a costly pick, but was fantastic otherwise.
I don't expect those kinds of results every week, but he at least showed he has the potential for notable fantasy performances. That puts him on the streaming radar in the right matchups.
Week 3 is a test against a Kansas City team that's going to be playing ticked off after an 0-2 start. It's a bit of a daunting challenge, but KC has allowed nearly 20 fantasy points to opposing QBs through two weeks, so Wilson is a fine deep-league starting option in my eyes.
The Giants will have to pass to keep up, and as long as he doesn't have a ton of turnovers, Wilson could deliver an average, or better, fantasy score.
Should You Add Drake Maye?
I don't know why Maye is available in as many leagues as he is. He was good in week 1, then looked even better in week 2.
In a win over the Dolphins, Maye threw for 230 yards, two scores and no picks, while completing 82.6% of his passes. He added 31 rushing yards and a score on 10 attempts.
He has 517 passing yards, three TDs and one INT on 71% passing through two weeks. Adding in 42 yards and a score on 14 carries gives him a decent fantasy boost too.
Maye gets the Steelers in week 3. Pittsburgh's defense has allowed nearly 23 fantasy points on average across the first two weeks. If you didn't roster Maye before, make sure he's rostered for this matchup.
He looks like a weekly starting option to me, and he shouldn't be available in any leagues.
Should You Add Daniel Jones?
How about Daniel Jones?! He's been fantastic through two weeks for the surprising 2-0 Colts.
Jones threw for 316 yards and a score on 67.6% passing in a win over a tough Denver defense in week 2. He added a rushing score to add more fantasy points to his name.
At some point, you just have to acknowledge that Jones is a good fantasy option right now. His dual-threat ability is underrated, and he's been a top-end fantasy QB through two weeks.
A tough test awaits in week 3 against the Titans. Tennessee has allowed just over 12 fantasy points to QBs through two weeks.
If Jones can take care of the ball, he could deliver another solid fantasy score, so don't shy away from the tough matchup. I'd be OK giving him deep-league starts in week 3, and if he delivers a good fantasy total again, his own percentage should really skyrocket before week 3.
Should You Add Caleb Williams?
Williams has not been very good through two weeks, and you have to wonder if he's starting to feel the pressure.
He had 207 passing yards and two scores against the Lions in a blowout loss on Sunday, but he also threw a pick. He rushed for 27 yards on five attempts.
Williams was benched with the team trailing big. He also took four more sacks.
So why am I bringing Williams up? Well, he faces the defense that Wilson just torched, the Cowboys, in week 3.
Dallas has allowed over 27 fantasy points on average to opposing fantasy QBs through two weeks.
Williams is definitely not the safest fantasy option out there, but the matchup says to believe in him a bit more for this one. He's just a deep-league starting option to me, but some will probably give him standard league consideration.
Should You Add Tua Tagovailoa?
Tua was much better in week 2, but it still ended with a loss.
He completed 81.3% of his passes for 315 yards, two scores and a pick. Tagovailoa didn't add anything as a rusher.
It was nice to see the Dolphins' offense bounce back a bit from a terrible week 1 showing. Tagovailoa is a better fantasy option moving forward as a result, and the matchup in week 3 is pretty favorable too.
Tua and the Dolphins get the Bills on Thursday night football. Buffalo has allowed nearly 21 fantasy points on average across the first two games.
Tagovailoa and the offense will likely need to pass plenty to keep up with Buffalo, and I think that will work in Tua's favor. Again, he's not a very confident fantasy asset, but the matchup is solid, and the game is likely to be in Tagovailoa's favor. We'll see if he can take advantage.
Should You Add Michael Penix?
Penix wasn't asked to do a ton for the Falcons in a Sunday night win over the Vikings.
He was 13-of-21 passing for just 135 yards, and no scores left him with a subpar fantasy showing. Penix didn't add anything as a rusher, but did also avoid turnovers.
Penix was much better in week 1, and the matchup in week 3 against the Panthers seems like a chance for him to succeed. However, Carolina has allowed less than 12.5 fantasy points to opposing QBs through two weeks, so it's not as good of a matchup as it appears on paper.
I expect a showing closer to week 1 than week 2, so I get wanting to add Penix. I think he's a better deep-league starting option, but he'll be in that big bunch of QBs on the cusp of standard league starts, so I decided to throw him in this story too.
Should You Add Jake Browning?
Browning is the name of the week after the injury to Joe Burrow. For now, Browning looks like the team's starting quarterback for the foreseeable future.
In relief of Burrow on Sunday, Browning was 21-of-32 passing for 241 yards and two scores. The Bengals somehow won despite Browning throwing three picks. He was sacked once and also rushed for the game-winning touchdown.
It was a wild day and showing for Browning, but the starting QB for this offense is already in a favorable fantasy spot.
Cincy plays Minnesota in week 3. So far, the Vikings' defense has allowed just under 15 fantasy points to opposing QBs. So it'll check in as a slightly below-average matchup.
If Browning ends up starting, he won't be the worst deep-league asset out there. I'd avoid him in standard league until he gets a better matchup. He's definitely a name to keep in mind considering the offensive weapons the team has around.
