BetMGM Sportsbook Review
My fellow expert here at FantasySP, Will Desvalles, enjoys FanDuel Sportsbook more than any other sportsbook out there in the industry. I wholeheartedly disagree, but I will say that FanDuel is in my top three. My favorite sportsbook is BetMGM. MGM took its famed brand to the world of online betting, and the result is an incredibly user-friendly sportsbook. So let’s dive in and find out why MGM is my favorite sportsbook to utilize (excluding the fact that I’m up thousands using this app in 2022… but I digress).
Legality Of BetMGM Sportsbook In The States
BetMGM features a polished interface with a user-friendly layout on a very straightforward platform. MGM is perhaps the most (or second-most) credible and well-established company in the United States. A joint venture between industry giants MGM Resorts and Entain, BetMGM is now available in 16 states and the District of Columbia. Below you can see where they have licenses to operate. If you don’t see your state’s name on the list, it’s nothing to be quite too concerned about yet. MGM is not nearly finished and they will continue to expand aggressively as more states legalize online and sports betting.

Bonuses & Promos (4.5 Stars)
Although BetMGM does not offer quite as many promotions and bonuses as some of its competitors such as FanDuel, MGM often offers customers the best odds when betting to counteract the fewer they spend on free promotions.
That said, there are still quite a few offers that can help bettors increase their winnings. In fact, since March Madness just started last week, they ran promos for new users and current users.
BetMGM provided $10 free bets throughout the NFL regular season so it’s nice to see that they are still offering already-registered users a chance to get another free bet.
Below, BetMGM basically just guaranteed new users a free $190. Simply bet 10 bucks on any NCAA Tournament and receive $200 if any team hits a three-pointer in the game you bet on. Pretty amazing!
March Madness bonuses weren’t done there though. Every day I logged into my BetMGM account, I was greeted with a 10% parlay booster through the first four days of the tournament. Every single day I logged on, I got one of these odds boosters. Very neat feature.

Mobile App & Website (4.5 Stars)
BetMGM’s online sportsbook is precise, pragmatic, and intuitive, both on the BetMGM mobile app or your computer. It’s not too busy and it’s quite easy to find whatever you would like to wager on. They even have some tips about sports betting, responsible gambling, self-exclusion policies, and explanations for everything that they offer to the public. BetMGM lists the most popular sports across the top of the screen with a logo for that sport. Promotions are also heavily featured at the top of the page. A button is available for Live events which is another reason to love BetMGM. At any time you want to see your current bets and your bet slip, simply press the “My Bets” (top right corner on desktop and lower right on the mobile app). A parlay generator is even available but I wouldn't recommend using that. It’s completely luck-driven.
BetMGM was very smart by creating a mobile app that is as good as or perhaps even better than industry-leaders DraftKings and FanDuel. MGM put a huge chunk of money towards the mobile design because it looks incredibly clean and easy to use. Plus, it’s available on both Android and iOS devices. The interface looks beautiful whether you are on the desktop version or the mobile app. Best of all, anything you can do on the desktop, you can do the app.

Registering, Depositing, Withdrawing (5 Stars)
Registering for an account takes very limited time as long as you use common sense when typing in your information. Because MGM is already a hugely established brand as is GVC Holdings Inc, BetMGM takes users’ privacy incredibly seriously.

Live Betting
If a gambling operator does not provide live betting options at this point in the game, you should probably withdraw your cash and find a better sportsbook. Fortunately for MGM, they have a live betting section that is well organized and thriving. They don’t just offer live betting for the four major sports but MGM includes tennis, soccer, golf, etc. With live betting, users can see play-by-play action often quicker than ESPN. MGM includes rosters, individual stats, team stats, head-to-head records, as well as updated markets among the spread, moneyline, total, game props, and everything in between all in real-time.
Same-Game Parlays
Some interfaces make placing an SGP (Same-Game Parlay) very difficult while BetMGM makes it quite easy. Users simply click on a sport at the top of the screen. Then the next games for that sport will show up. Simply click on the game you’d like to place an SGP wager on. Once a game or match has been clicked on, users can select the feature from the menu and begin to build their parlay.
For example, the Lakers are playing the Cavaliers tonight. Let’s say I think Los Angeles will pull off the upset and win outright because LeBron is going to drop at least 30 points. Below, you can see that I added a few more parameters to the bet for a potential 10X payout.

Live Streaming
MGM offers free streaming of different sporting events, though I’ve definitely noticed an emphasis on soccer and tennis. I did see a hockey game live at some point last month so I know this feature is available for other sports. The live section has a dedicated tab with all upcoming matches that users can live stream.
Poker
While I prefer playing poker with my friends at a real table, online poker has been a huge hit over the last decade and a half or so. So it’s not surprising to see BetMGM offering a poker section on top of their sportsbook. I did tip my toe into the online poker world and it is clear that BetMGM Poker uses the same state-of-the-art software as they do for sports betting and they provide a myriad of cash games and tournaments with guaranteed prize pools, just like Daily Fantasy Sports.
Early Cash Out
This feature is critical to both rookies and seasoned sports bettors. If you won the first three legs of your 4-team parlay, MGM will give you the option to cash out at a smaller number than the potential payout. This way, you are guaranteed a profit and avoid a bad beat. The cash-out feature is only available on certain types of bets, but parlays are definitely the most popular wager that players cash out early.
Casino
I admit I haven’t used their Casino more than one time but from what I can tell, BetMGM Casino is a premium service provided to players in regulated states. Users can use their sportsbook account to get in on the casino action if that’s something they are interested in. There are 500+ online casino games which include table games such as Black Jack and Texas Hold ‘Em, online slot machines, and much more.
Of course, BetMGM offers sports bettors other opportunities that would take forever to write about.
