Outlook Bo Bichette
Bo Bichette is heating up at the plate and sliding into a premier role for the shorthanded Mets.
Bichette has been on a tear lately, batting .375 over the last week and .311 over his last 12 games. With superstar shortstop Francisco Lindor currently sidelined on the injured list, Bichette has stepped in as the everyday starter at shortstop for the fifth-place Mets (29-36).
While his slow start was a major concern, his recent surge aligns much closer to our season projection of a .281 batting average and his elite career baseline. Expect his over-the-fence power to return soon, as his excellent bat-to-ball skills make this hot streak a genuine return to form rather than a fluke.
The Mets have a six-game home stretch facing St. Louis and Atlanta, where Bichette will navigate tough matchups against Bryce Elder (2.73 ERA) alongside more generous targets like Dustin May (4.59 ERA). Our models project him for a highly productive week, making him a must-start option.
