Week 6 Fantasy Football Waiver Targets Based on Projections: Marks, Love, Shakir, and More

Looking for fantasy football help at QB, RB, WR or TE? These highly-projected waiver wire options could be worth adding ahead of Week 6.

Let's take a look at some more fantasy football waiver wire options heading into Week 6, but using weekly projections to come up with the players.

We have a couple of players at quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end to discuss, so let's get right to it!

Weekly fantasy football projections can be found all season on FantasySP! Defensive rankings are also available!

Running Backs

Green Bay's MarShawn Lloyd is projected for 11 PPR points in Week 6. He has a matchup against the Cowboys, and is currently rostered in 60.78% of leagues.

He has yet to top 50 total yards in a game this season, but he is trending up a bit after getting 12 touches in Week 4, then 11 more in Week 5. Lloyd had 49 total yards in Week 4 before tallying 37 total yards and two scores in Week 5.

Lloyd is tougher to trust with his lack of touches, but with four teams on bye weeks, Lloyd could at least be a standard league flex-level option, and he probably will start in a lot of deeper leagues too.

Houston's Woody Marks is set for 10 PPR points against the Jaguars, who are a tougher matchup on paper. He's owned in 65.17% of leagues right now.

Marks could lead the Houston backfield as David Montgomery is dealing with an injury. Marks is coming off his best performance: 85 total yards across 19 touches.

Marks is a notable waiver wire option this week, and he'll be projected to fare well, even in a tough matchup, because of the injury to Montgomery. If the veteran is out, Marks should be an even safer fantasy starting option for the week.

Wide Receivers

Tennessee's Wan'Dale Robinson is projected for 12 PPR points against the Colts in Week 6. He's rostered in 66.62% of leagues at the moment.

He tallied 53 yards across six receptions and seven targets in Week 5. Robinson scored a touchdown in the two weeks before that, so he's trending up, especially in PPR formats.

Again, with four teams on byes, and maybe other wideouts banged up, Robinson is not only a waiver wire pickup option, but a receiver to maybe be starting in any fantasy league type this week.

Buffalo's Khalil Shakir is one of several wideouts projected for 10 PPR points, along with Jacksonville's Jakobi Meyers, Kansas City's Xavier Worthy, Indianapolis' Keenan Allen and Las Vegas' Tre Tucker. I like Shakir the best of the bunch, so let's discuss him.

He is rostered in 73.57% of leagues right now. He will be facing the Raiders in Week 6.

Shakir caught all three of his targets this past week, but went for 80 yards. He had 82 yards across seven grabs and eight targets in Week 4, so he's starting to produce more for Buffalo - that coincides a bit with D.J. Moore being banged up.

Shakir is a sneaky-good option for Week 6, especially in a matchup the Bills should win.

Tight Ends

Pittsburgh's Pat Freiermuth is projected for 10 PPR points in Week 6. He is owned in just 26.13% of leagues and will be facing the Buccaneers.

The Pittsburgh tight end had 44 yards and two scores across five receptions and seven targets in Week 5. He has four touchdowns already this season, but has yet to go over 46 yards, so he's very touchdown-dependent as a fantasy asset.

That doesn't really matter when you're talking about a tight end - the toughest fantasy spot to navigate every week. If you don't have a top-end option, or are dealing with byes this week at TE, give Freiermuth some consideration, and hope he finds the end zone again if you add and start him.

Jacksonville's Brenton Strange is set for nine PPR points against the Texans. He is rostered in 40.99% of leagues. I decided to single out Strange over Houston's Dalton Schultz, who is also projected for nine fantasy points.

He's a better overall option at TE than Freiermuth after catching seven passes in two straight games - he had 95 yards in Week 4 and then 68 yards in Week 5.

Strange is trending up right now, and he'd be my top TE pickup option of the week. I'd ride the wave with him until his production drops off.

Quarterbacks

Green Bay's Jordan Love is projected for the second-most fantasy points among quarterbacks, at least for now. He's set for 23 points in a great matchup against the Cowboys and is owned in 71.92% of leagues right now.

Love was stellar in Week 5, completing 25 of his 31 passing attempts for 367 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He has two touchdown passes in every game this season, and it was already his third time over 300 passing yards.

Love has been above-average more often than not this season, and tacking on a great matchup and what he did last week and Love is a very good option for Week 6. Consider adding Love and rolling with him until his numbers dip a bit.

Old Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is projected for 18 points in a battle with Tampa Bay in Week 6. The Pittsburgh QB is rostered in 35.83% of leagues.

Rodgers has 235 or more passing yards in three straight games, along with three TD passes in each contest. He has thrown three picks in that stretch, but took care of the ball this past week.

He might be 42 years old and nearing the end of his career, but he's hot right now, and that gives him streaming upside in Week 6, and until he cools off. He could be tried in all league types this week.
