1. Trey McBride
McBride reigns atop the TE rankings again for Week 5.
He's got the best fantasy matchup for TEs coming against the Lions too, which makes it even easier to take him first this week.
Connect your league to uncover strengths & weaknesses, waiver assistance, trade scenarios, and get instant start/sit clarity.
Kittle has been good this season, but a tougher test against the Seahawks has me a bit more skeptical.
I still think the star TE gets the job done, so I'm comfortable taking him second.
3. Brock Bowers
Bowers is usually in the running for TE1, but the worst possible TE matchup against the Patriots has me ranking him third for Week 5.
His fantasy owners should still trust in him, so definitely keep starting Bowers, just temper expectations a bit.
4. Sam LaPorta
LaPorta has started his season pretty well, and heads into a very favorable matchup against the Cardinals.
If he finds the end zone more than once, he very well could be TE1 this week.
Likely has been a pleasant fantasy surprise so far, and has a great chance to continue looking good as a stellar matchup against the Commanders awaits in Week 5.
Likely should be starting in all fantasy leagues as a result.
6. Tyler Warren
Warren has a pretty average test coming against the Steelers.
He's coming off his worst fantasy showing of the season, but I still believe in Warren having a big showing in Week 5.
7. Harold Fannin Jr.
Fannin has started his season strong, but has a very tough test against the Jets next, so he falls to the No. 7 ranking.
We'll see if Fannin can surprise and deliver big despite the stiffer challenge.
Johnson has been a fantasy stud early on, but Week 5 brings a tougher test against the Vikings.
I'm still trusting in the top-end fantasy TE to get the job done, but I see him closer to No. 10 than 5.
9. Tucker Kraft
Kraft finally got rolling a bit in Week 4, but a tough test against the Bears awaits in Week 5.
I still believe in Kraft enough to place him in the top 10, but I'm also not all-in on the Packers' TE.
10. T.J. Hockenson
Hockenson erupted for a monster outing in Week 4, so he gets the final spot in my top 10 for Week 5.
His matchup against the Saints is above average, so I like his chances of delivering big again.
11. Dalton Kincaid
Kincaid has struggled the past two weeks, after two stellar outings to kick off the season. A tough matchup against the Rams is next, so he falls outside the top 10.
There's enough upside in Kincaid to still start him in a good amount of fantasy leagues though.
12. Colston Loveland
Loveland got going a bit last week, but now with a tougher test against the Packers coming, I'm only comfortable taking him 12th.
Loveland could erupt at any point, so he'll still be started in a lot of fantasy leagues.
13. Hunter Henry
Henry is a sneaky-good option for Week 5 in a favorable matchup against the Raiders.
He's coming off his best fantasy showing, and another season-best outing could be coming.
14. Mark Andrews
Andrews is another TE coming off his best performance of the season, although a TD really helped his cause.
Atlanta is a solid matchup for him in Week 5, but the injury to Lamar Jackson has me more skeptical of trying Andrews.
15. Kenyon Sadiq
Sadiq has been all over the place as a fantasy asset so far, so ranking him 15th seems more than fair.
He has a decent matchup against the Browns, so maybe he could surprise and deliver big, like he has a couple times as a rookie already.
16. Dalton Schultz
Schultz has one big fantasy outing and three lackluster showings so far.
He'll look to get rolling in a tougher test against the Titans in Week 5.
17. Jake Ferguson
I wanted to rank Ferguson much higher, but with just one really good outing so far, I couldn't pull the trigger.
He's got a stellar matchup coming against the Buccaneers, so we'll see if Ferguson can come through for his fantasy owners.
18. Brenton Strange
Strange had his best fantasy showing in Week 4, but now has a very tough test against the Eagles this week.
He's a better deep-league starting option as a result.
19. Pat Freiermuth
Freiermuth has been OK as a fantasy asset to kick off the 2026 season.
He gets a decent matchup against the Colts this week, but that makes him a better deep-league option, not worthy of standard league starts.
20. Mike Gesicki
Gesicki has been a surprisingly good fantasy asset early this season, but touchdown grabs are propping him up big time.
A good matchup against the Dolphins awaits, and with some Bengals' pass catchers banged up, Gesicki could surprise again. He is one to gamble on if you need a fantasy TE for this week.
21. Michael Mayer
Mayer has come on strong the past two weeks, which is strange since Bowers missed the two games Mayer struggled in.
Anyways, I like Mayer as a fantasy asset, but not a whole bunch in a brutal matchup against the Patriots. Las Vegas needs to throw the ball to someone, and the best targets have been the tight ends the past couple weeks.
22. Cade Otton
Otton has contributed a bit each week, but hasn't hit double digits yet.
He has a chance to get there this week in a favorable matchup against the Cowboys. However, Baker Mayfield being out has me skeptical on trying Otton outside very deep leagues.
23. Kyle Pitts Sr.
Pitts has struggled mightily to kick off the 2026 season. He gets a decent matchup this week against the Ravens.
He's coming off his best game, so we'll see if he can keep improving, and maybe jump back up the rankings in the weeks to come.
24. AJ Barner
Barner has one double-digit outing on the season. Another one might be tough to come by in Week 5, as a very tough test against the Niners awaits.
We'll see if Barner can get going this week, but he's just a deep-league starting option until he shows more.
Washington has put together a couple of good fantasy showings in a row, but as a TE2 on his own team, I only feel comfortable slotting him in here in the rankings.
That matchup against the Colts is good enough to try a couple Steelers' tight ends in though.
