Looking over some fantasy football waiver wire targets at tight end going into week 17.

I just went over some fantasy football waiver wire options at quarterback for week 17, and now will do the same for tight ends.

Check back for even more waiver wire articles as week 16 wraps up and week 17 nears.

Check out fantasy football waiver wire targets all season on FantasySP.

Should You Add Harold Fannin?

Fannin is the top fantasy tight end heading into the week 16 Monday night game. He went for 34 yards on four receptions and six targets. Fannin caught a touchdown, while also rushing for a one-yard score on his lone rushing attempt.

His targets were way down this week, but the two scores helped him to a fourth straight double-digit PPR outing. I love how he is trending as this season winds down.

He's got a good matchup coming in week 17 against the Steelers, so I like him continuing his late-season surge. Fannin had 81 yards on seven grabs and 10 targets the last time the teams met in week 6. Start Fannin again confidently in week 17.

Should You Add Juwan Johnson?

Johnson finished with 90 yards on eight receptions and nine targets in his week 16 showing.

It was his first double-digit showing since week 12, but he has had at least seven PPR points in the other three games in that stretch.

He has a pretty average matchup against the Titans in week 17, so I'd expect another solid-or-better fantasy outing from the Saints' top tight end.

Should You Add Chig Okonkwo?

Okonkwo surprised with 44 yards and a touchdown on six receptions and eight targets this week.

It was his first time in double digits as a PPR asset since week 6.

Okonkwo will have to deliver in a tough matchup against the Saints to back up his week 16 showing. He also has rookie Gunnar Helm to contend with at the position, but after his week 16 outing, Okonkwo is at least a deep-league option.

Should You Add Elijah Higgins?

Talk about a surprise performance: Higgins outperformed stud teammate Trey McBride at the tight end spot. Higgins had 91 yards on seven grabs and eight targets.

He hadn't had over three catches in a game coming into this past week. Higgins' most targets in a game before this was just three as well.

It's hard to know if you can trust Higgins after just one outing, but he's at least a deep-league option for week 17. The matchup against the Bengals is the best one for fantasy tight ends, so Higgins and McBride could both deliver in that contest.

Should You Add Hunter Henry?

Henry finished with 35 yards, but on six grabs and seven targets. A touchdown took a solid PPR performance and turned it into a pretty good one.

He now has scored in double figures in three of the past four games, but the time he didn't in that stretch was an absolute dud.

The Jets will be an above-average matchup for Henry in week 17, so I'm going to like starting him in a lot of leagues. He had 45 yards on four grabs and six targets in the last meeting between the teams.

Check back later in the week to see where Henry ranks in my week 17 tight end rankings.

Should You Add Taysom Hill?

Hill was another Saint who delivered nice results in week 16. The do-it-all Hill threw a 38-yard touchdown, rushed for 42 yards on 12 carries and caught four of his six targets for 36 yards. His lone downfall this week was a lost fumble.

With Alvin Kamara still out and Devin Neal" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#player-pop-up" href="/nfl_player_news/Devin_Neal/">Devin Neal done for the season, the Saints turned to Hill over Audric Estime or Evan Hull. Hill can put up good fantasy results when he gets enough touches, and he goes from an afterthought to a possible starter in all fantasy leagues (depending on where he's eligible to start).

The matchup against the Titans is a chance for Hill to do it all and deliver for fantasy owners again. If Kamara returns though, Hill's fantasy outlook will take a pretty big hit, so watch Kamara's status closely.

Should You Add AJ Barner?

Barner went for 49 yards and a score on four catches and six targets back on Thursday against the Rams. He added a rush for a single yard.

The touchdown turned a so-so fantasy outing into a pretty good one, and his best showing since week 11. He delivered big in both games against the Rams.

Carolina is a pretty average fantasy test for tight ends, so Barner is at least a deep-league option for week 17. He can be in standard league conversations, but I like him more in deeper leagues.

Should You Add Brenton Strange?

Strange ended week 16 with 39 yards and a score on five receptions and seven targets.

It was a nice bounceback outing after a couple of down showings in a row. Luckily, a bit more favorable matchup is awaiting in week 17, so maybe Strange could deliver again.

He was held to just 27 yards on three catches in the first meeting between the teams, but he still had a respectable six targets.

Should You Add Dalton Schultz?

Schultz finished with 35 yards and a score on five grabs and targets this week.

He has back-to-back double-digit fantasy outings, and has accomplished that feat in three of the past four games and six of the past eight overall.

The Chargers will be a bit tougher test for Schultz, but with how he's been trending, I'm going to rank him pretty highly going into week 17.

Should You Add Cade Otton?

Otton had just 15 yards on two receptions and targets in week 16.

He hasn't been in double digits as a PPR asset since week 10. So why am I mentioning him you might ask?

A fantastic matchup against the Dolphins is why. I still only would trust him in deeper leagues, but Otton could surprise in week 17.

Should You Add Darren Waller?

On the other end of the field in that game will be Waller. He disappointed me in week 16, with just 40 yards on three catches and five targets in that elite matchup against the Bengals.

Tampa Bay struggles to slow tight ends as well though, so Waller could bounce back in a big way in week 17.

I like him in deeper leagues for sure, and would still consider him in standard leagues, even after an uninspiring outing this past week.

Should You Add Mike Gesicki?

I've picked on the Bengals enough, so let's give their tight end some love. Gesicki finished with 35 yards and a touchdown on three receptions and four targets in week 16.

He has double-digit outings in two of the past three weeks now, but had a dud in the other contest.

A pretty average test against the Cardinals is next for Gesicki. With the way the Bengals' offense looked against a poor Dolphins' defense in week 16, and a similar matchup this coming week, Gesicki could be a sneaky good fantasy tight end again.

Should You Add Colston Loveland?

Loveland was pretty locked up in week 16 against the Packers. He went for 30 yards on three grabs and four targets.

He took a step back after a couple of double-digit PPR outings in a row. I like his usage of late, and if a couple Bears' wideouts are out again in week 17, Loveland could put up some fantasy points.

He will have a pretty average test against the Niners, who will be coming off a short week, as they play on Monday night.
