Week 13 Trending Waiver Wire Pickups & Projections: Zonovan Knight, Zay Jones Lead The Way!
Week 12 is officially in the books after the Pittsburgh Steelers were able to knock off the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football. After all 32 teams were in action in Week 12, fantasy owners will have to look for bye-week replacements for the Arizona Cardinals and Carolina Panthers. These two teams may not have the most high-powered offenses in the league but they each have a few fantasy-relevant players who will be sidelined in Week 13. Not to mention, the Panthers are coming off a surprising victory over the Denver Broncos and the Cardinals played a great game, losing in the final seconds to Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers. Let’s take a look at the players fantasy owners will need to find replacements for in Week 13.

Arizona Cardinals
- QB Kyler Murray
- RB James Conner
- WR DeAndre Hopkins
- WR Marquise Brown
Carolina Panthers
- RB D’Onta Foreman
- WR D.J. Moore
Don’t forget that the final bye weeks are in Week 14 where six teams will get the week off. Fantasy owners will need streamable options to replace members of the Atlanta Falcons, Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints, and Washington Commanders next week. That is something to keep in mind when scrounging the waiver wire for potential options.
With 30 teams in action this week, there will be more streamable options on the waiver wire than usual (despite how late into the season it is). It seems that every single season, this is the time when a few players emerge as league-winning contributors. As we gear up for Week 13, it is time to make those pivotal waiver wire claims and FAAB bids. Last week’s waiver wire gem, Samaje Perine, found the end zone in Week 12 and may have contributed to a pivotal victory for your fantasy squad as you battle for a spot in the postseason.

Looking At Week 13 Fantasy Football Predictive Adds:
[predict="add-2022-13"]
WR Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars
Fantasy owners are flocking toward Zay Jones and for good reason. The former member of the Raiders has been a trustworthy target for Trevor Lawrence this season and he has only improved as the season has progressed. Jones has 3+ receptions in seven straight contests and has now accumulated 19 catches for 200+ yards over his last two games. Jones only has one touchdown this season (back in Week 3 against the Chargers) but he set season highs in receptions and yards in Jacksonville’s come-from-behind victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Jones paced the team with 14 targets and hauled in 11 receptions for a whopping 145 yards. Jones has been eating into Christian Kirk’s volume and seems to have developed an excellent rapport with his quarterback. Fantasy owners are making the right decision by prioritizng Jones heading into Week 13.

RB Zonovan Knight, New York Jets
The Jets can’t seem to catch a break at the running back position. Breece Hall was on his way to a magical rookie season before suffering a torn ACL. Michael Carter Jr. then took over RB1 duties and was filling in admirably but was forced out of Sunday’s victory over the Chicago Bears. Carter suffered a lower ankle sprain and while Robert Saleh has yet to rule Carter out for Week 13’s road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, it seems very unlikely that Carter will be able to suit up. Not to worry because New York’s undrafted free agent – Zonovan Knight – played extremely well following Carter’s injury in Week 12. Knight topped 100 overall scrimmage yards, finishing with 69 yards on the ground on 14 carries and another 34 yards through the air on three receptions. If Carter is unable to suit up in Week 13, Knight would split the workload with Ty Johnson. Knight seems like the more dynamic back and could be a volume-based RB2 in Week 13. Carter’s injury is definitely a situation to monitor throughout the week but Knight is worthy of a speculative add.

RB JaMychal Hasty, Jacksonville Jaguars
Hasty was brilliant in Jacksonville's Week 12 victory over the Ravens. Travis Etienne exited the game with a foot injury but the Jaguars were able to ride Hasty to a victory. Although he wasn’t all that effective on the ground, he ran hard and kept moving his legs, finishing with 28 rushing yards on 12 attempts. That’s nothing to write home about but Hasty’s true value comes in the passing game. He hauled in all five of his targets for 67 yards including the Jaguars’ first touchdown of the game. Although Etienne is looking like he’ll be healthy enough to suit up in Week 13, Hasty is looking like one of the top handcuffs in the NFL. Should Etienne go down again, Hasty could be a league-winning pickup. I wouldn’t break the bank on him if you participate in FAAB leagues but fantasy owners who have an extra roster spot should definitely consider the former San Francisco 49er.

TE Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders
With Darren Waller on Injured Reserve, Moreau has now found the end zone in two of his previous three games. He has been a trustworthy source of production for Derek Carr and saw a season-high seven targets in the Raiders’ upset overtime victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The big tight end finished with three receptions for 33 yards and one score. While the yardage is never going to be huge, Moreau could have an ever larger role in Week 13 with Josh Jacobs looking iffy after aggravating an injury. The Raiders may be forced to throw the ball more than normal in Week 13 when they take on a Los Angeles Chargers team that should take an early lead but that also allows the 11th-most fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends. The Raiders will have to play catchup, which could result in more opportunities for Moreau.
WR DeAndre Carter, Los Angeles Chargers
Carter has stepped up big for the Chargers with Mike Williams sidelined. Although Keenan Allen is back in the mix and Joshua Palmer has looked excellent, fantasy owners can’t forget about Carter. Carter saw a whopping 10 targets on Sunday and turned that into seven receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown. He has now found the end zone in two of his last three outings. With Williams out for the next few weeks, Carter should remain Justin Herbert’s number three option in the passing game. With a matchup looming against the atrocious Raiders defense, Carter is definitely someone who can be streamed in Week 13.

QB Mike White, New York Jets
I don’t want to see Zach Wilson for the rest of the season. Mike White did more than enough in his season debut to win the starting job. White had some fantasy magic last season and he did it again in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears. The young quarterback completed 78.6% of his passes for 315 yards and three touchdowns. He also did a great job of protecting the football and not committing any turnovers. Although the Jets are banged up in the running game, Garrett Wilson has proven to be a gamechanger and Elijah Moore is finally contributing to the offense. Not to mention, Tyler Conklin has been a trustworthy tight end in this offense all season. If you need a quarterback to replace Kyler Murray this week, Mike White is your guy when the Jets travel to Minnesota to take on a Vikings defense that is currently allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to oppposing quarterbacks.
RB AJ Dillon, Green Bay Packers
Dillon was expected to have a great season with the Packers splitting running back duties with Aaron Jones. Instead, he’s been a complete bust and was dropped in several leagues. However, Dillon finally had a solid game in Green Bay’s Week 12 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. He finished with 88 total yards from scrimmage and a touchdown, producing double-digit fantasy points for the first time this season. Although Dillon is still owned in the majority of leagues, if he’s available, you might want to consider adding him, especially with the Packers season over. They may want to give Dillon more opportunities down the stretch so they can truly evaluate his talent. Dillon has 531 rushing yards on 125 carries this season and two touchdowns. He also has 20 receptions for an additional 133 yards.

RB Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Although Cam Akers returned to the lineup, the Rams waived Darrell Henderson and Williams has essentially become the de facto RB1 for Los Angeles at this point of the season. The rookie excels at both running in between the tackles and catching passes out of the backfield. Unfortunately, the Rams are simply abysmal this season and without Matthew Stafford and Cooper Kupp, opposing defenses can stack the both. Still, if Williams can find the end zone, he can easily put up double-digit fantasy points.
WR Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans
Burks was a waiver wire gem last week and shouldn’t be available in any fantasy leagues after establishing himself as the WR1 in the Ttians’ offense. However, he’s still available in over 30% of leagues and if he’s on your league’s waiver wire, you need to pounce on him immediately. After hauling in seven receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown last week, Burks produced four catches for 60 yards and recovered a fumble in the end zone for another touchdown in Week 12. He now has 35 PPR points over the last two weeks of the season. The Titans have a tough matchup on the horizon against the Philadelphia Eagles but Ryan Tannehill will likely have to let it fly if the Titans have any chance at knocking off the first-place Eagles. Burks will be unavailable in all leagues after today so get him while you still can.
WR Isaiah McKenzie, Buffalo Bills
You never know which wide receiver outside of Stefon Diggs is going to off for the Bills. Some weeks it is Gabriel Davis, some weeks it’s even tight end Dawson Knox, and some weeks it’s the the speedy slot receiver, Isaiah McKenzie. After failing to catch a single pass in Week 11, McKenzie went nuclear in Buffalo’s Week 12 victory over the Detroit Lions. He hauled in six receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. The Bills have arguably the best offense in the NFL and savvy fantasy owners know that getting any piece of this offense is a worthwhile investment. Week 13 may not be the week to start McKenzie considering the touch matchup against the New England Patriots but he’s still worthy of a roster spot.
