Week 9 FAAB Waiver Wire Pickups: Greg Dulcich Enters TE1 Conversation
It's that time of the week to disect the top players on the waiver wire at each position. More importantly, we must decide how much of our FAAB budget we are willing to spend. If you are desperate for a tight end, you might go all in on Denver's Greg Dulcich. Let's dive right in and break down the top FAAB waiver wire pickups heading into Week 9 of the fantasy football season and how much of your budget you should spend on each player.
Week 9 Quarterbacks To Target
Justin Fields, Chicago Bears
Just about two weeks ago I had little to no interest in Fields, however, over the past two games he has shown marked improvement as a passer and is well worth adding if he is on the wire in all leagues. FAAB: $40-50
Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons
Although the Falcons have been loathe to throw the football in recent weeks, Mariota has shown great leadership and should hold onto the job so long as the team remains in playoff contention. FAAB: $30-35

Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders
I am a big Heinicke fan and hope that he keeps the job even when Wentz comes back from injury. I would not waste a waiver claim on him, but would pick him up immediately when your league has a free drop/add period. FAAB: $10-15
P.J. Walker, Carolina Panthers
Walker was named starter for Week 9 after two excellent performances in Week 7 and 8. The Panthers offense has started to click, and it would be wise for them to stick with Walker so long as he can keep the offense moving. FAAB: $25-30
Sam Ehlinger, Indianapolis Colts
Ehlinger did not look too confident in the first half against Washington in Week 8, but I saw glimmers of hope in the fourth quarter as he led the Colts to a couple of late game scoring drives. We also did not see the true scope of his mobility which might emerge over the coming weeks. FAAB: $10-15
Mac Jones, New England Patriots
Jones’ inconsistent play is more attributable to horrible play calling than it is horrible QB play. I think he remains the starter over Zappe, so if you are desperate with BYE week issues, he could be a good option. FAAB: $10-15
Week 9 Running Backs To Target
James Cook, Buffalo Bills
I think we saw a little bit of Cook’s potential in the game against Green Bay on Sunday night. He's an explosive runner who also is very dangerous out of the backfield catching the football. The Bills have shown interest in a few available running backs but if after the trade deadline Cook remains on the team he could be a sneaky source of production. FAAB: $60-70
Chuba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers
This may seem like a strange recommendation, but I believe that when Hubbard returns from injury he will get at least 40% of the touches in the Panthers backfield. He is the far better receiver than Foreman which is why in PPR formats he still has value. FAAB: $50-60
Khalil Herbert, Chicago Bears
I am sure that Herbert is rostered in most leagues but in case he isn't he has earned a 50-50 time share with David Montgomery and for my money I think he's the better running back. FAAB: $150-170
Kenyan Drake, Baltimore Ravens
There are so many injuries in the Ravens backfield that we can't overlook Drake. He may split opportunities with a bunch of other guys but he probably is the best all-around back that the team has right now. FAAB: $80-110
Kyren Williams, Los Angeles Rams
Williams will be activated probably in the next week or two and when that happens, there is a good chance that he will become the RB1 for the Rams. He was a dangerous threat back at Notre Dame and I know the Rams really liked him in training camp. FAAB: $120-140
JaMychal Hasty, Jacksonville Jaguars
Keep your eye on Hasty who is now the backup to Travis Etienne in Jacksonville. Hasty has some upside in the passing game and might have stand-alone value should Etienne get injured. FAAB: $5-10
Week 9 Wide Receivers To Target
Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers
I am a little bit worried about Mike Williams’ injury so I would keep a very close eye on Palmer who might end up back in the starting lineup for multiple weeks. FAAB: $75-80
Darius Slayton, New York Giants
I don't consider Slayton to be a special receiver but right now he is a starter for the Giants and someone who seems to have a pretty good connection with Daniel Jones. The Giants tend to take one or two big chances downfield most every game and Slayton is usually the recipient of those targets. FAAB: $45-50
Terrace Marshall, Carolina Panthers
Marshall seems to be coming into his own in his sophomore season. He was targeted eight times in the game against Carolina catching four passes for 87 yards. I think there's some untapped potential and if teams are going to double cover DJ Moore then Marshall might be the biggest beneficiary of that coverage. FAAB: $60-70
Jahan Dotson, Washington Commanders
The only reason I'm listing Dotson here is that in some shallower leagues people tend to drop somebody when they go on the IR and then other teams forget that player is on the waiver wire. I don't think it's wise to forget Dotson’s name as he is a terrific route runner and someone who will be in the mix for targets for the Commanders. FAAB: $80-100
Van Jefferson, Los Angeles Rams
Jefferson was activated off the IR this past weekend and although he did not have a target or a catch in the game, I think that we will see his snap count increase in the coming weeks. FAAB: $40-50
Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans
See my above comment with Dotson and I feel just as strongly about Burks. The Titans are desperate for an impact receiver, and Burks has a very good chance to be that type of player as soon as he returns from injury. FAAB: $80-100
Week 9 Tight Ends To Target
Greg Dulcich, Denver Broncos
Dulcich has assumed the role of TE1 in Denver and has the resume to back it up. He’s a former WR with good speed and solid hands and he has built a good rapport with Russell Wilson already. Look for him to be a major contributor after the Broncos return from their BYE week. FAAB: $100-120
Isaiah Likely, Baltimore Ravens
I really love the potential of Likely. He's a huge target who has excellent speed for a man of his size. With Rashod Bateman out for a few more weeks I can see the Ravens running a two tight end set with Likely being the biggest beneficiary. In a position where it's hard to find impact players he might be one at this point of the season. FAAB: $150-180
Tyler Conklin, New York Jets
It's hard to endorse Conklin wholeheartedly but he does flash every so often and he is on the field for most of the team snaps. If you were desperate for a tight end during this very crazy bye week, he could be a good option. FAAB: $30-40
Harrison Bryant, Cleveland Browns
Bryant has always been a big target with significant upside, but he's been blocked by David Njoku which has hurt his fantasy value. With the Njoku out most likely for the next few weeks Bryant should have the opportunity to assert himself in the team's offense. FAAB: $10-15
