McKinnon receives treatment, will miss two weeks
NEWS: Jerick McKinnon is expected to be out two weeks after receiving a platelet-rich injection in his surgically-repaired knee
ANALYSIS: It's hard to have a good feeling about McKinnon as a Fantasy owner. First, we have Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida. They're going to see some amount of playing time. This was supposed to be McKinnon's backfield a season ago, but he missed the entire year. We haven't seen him play a regular season game since December of 2017.
In the last five high-stakes drafts over at FullTime Fantasy, McKinnon's ADP range is 138 to 158 and these drafts came just before this news. He was already the RB52 coming off the board. Meanwhile Breida's ADP is inching up and Coleman's ADP is steady.
McKinnon needs two weeks to get right and that could easily turn into three or four. If you draft him, you better like him a lot and show patience because we're already off to a rocky start to 2019.
Coutee injures ankle, few details emerge
NEWS: Keke Coutee went down during Thursday's preseason game with what is being reported as a "not major' ankle injury. No timeline is set yet.
ANALYSIS: A pattern of injuries is starting to emerge with Coutee, seems like anyway. He only played in six games a year ago, his rookie season with the Texans. Then, it was a hamstring injury and now, this is his ankle. I've made this analogy before but high-speed and athletically-gifted players are sometimes like an expensive sports car. They look great when they're out there on the road but some of them just always seem to need work done in the shop.
Coutee is a super-promising Fantasy prospect. His Advanced ADP is 81.9, which puts him at Round 7, Pick 9. So he's viewed as a WR3 type among the core of people's rosters. And this is all off six games last year and the promise that comes with his QB Deshaun Watson. Will Fuller has a much deeper resume, but he has shown a similar propensity for injuries by missing 15 games over the last two seasons. Even with that deeper resume, Fuller's ADP is 71.9. We already know DeAndre Hopkins is a beast and his presence opens up a lot of man coverage outside for Coutee and Fuller. We just need one of these guys to stay of that weekly injury report. We'll know more soon about Coutee's injury but I do feel he is being overdrafted since he still firmly feels like the WR3 in this offense and there's a lot of inconsistency that comes with that role.

Giants' QB controversy after Jones' debut? Not so fast, my friends
NEWS: Giants head coach Pat Shurmur told fans to "slow your roll" on a potential QB controversy after the rookie's preseason debut.
ANALYSIS: Look guys, my name is Pat Shurmur and it's 1999, OK? And I suggest you SLOW YOUR ROLL. If you know what's good for you. Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go listen to "Smooth" by Santana featuring Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 and and say WHAASSSSUUUUP to my friends over a cold Bud Light. As one does...
No but seriously, Daniel Jones is going to hear his name quite often this year and it's a shame, all things considered, it's come to this for Eli Manning. Far from a perfect QB, it's going to be tough for this team to endure its annual Eli shenanigans with Jones on the sideline. If Manning throws a couple first half picks against a division rival, especially at home, we already know the coaching staff is going to be put on the spot. It's going to happen sooner rather than later. Manning probably deserves better but his poor play has put him in this position.
Jones is going to get on the field in a regular season game very soon. It's inevitable. Even if Manning comes out red hot, the fans will be cheering for Jones even after a three-and-out, which is what happened during last night's preseason game.
Shurmur just has to play this as though it'll take time out of respect for Manning and to allow Jones to feel like he has to really earn it.
Jones is currently being undrafted in high-stakes leagues. If you're thinking about Manning as a late-round flier, you should be thinking about Jones instead. New York has a Week 11 bye week and I think that following Week 12 game is the absolute latest Manning could possibly survive as the starter and that's probably a generous prognosis.
