Should You Drop Jakob Poeltl?
Poeltl is down 6.1% - he is rostered in 71% of leagues overall now. Poeltl is dealing with a back injury.
Poeltl recently missed two games, then played just six minutes in his last appearance. He's out again on Tuesday.
It's been a disappointing fantasy season for Poeltl. His minutes have dropped over four from last season, and his production has been hindered as a result.
Over 21 games (all starts), Poeltl is averaging 9.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 0.5 blocks over 25.3 minutes a contest. He's shooting 69.3% overall. He has logged just two double-doubles on the season.
A year ago, he averaged 14.5 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals and blocks over 29.6 minutes a night. He shot 62.7% overall. Poeltl had 23 double-doubles.
His production is down, and it's a direct result of playing less minutes. Poeltl is still a double-double threat, but with those occurring less frequently, he's not as big a fantasy asset.
Add in an injury now and it's giving his fantasy owners reason to move on from him. While Poeltl is still worth a roster spot in some standard leagues, there's also better options out there, so don't be afraid to move on now.
Keep rostering him in deeper leagues, and keep an eye on him in case his minutes and production even go back up, but he seems more like a deep-league fantasy asset with standard league streaming value in all leagues when/if his production ever increases.
Should You Drop Jaylon Tyson?
Tyson is owned in 71% of leagues after being let go in 4.5% of leagues today.
He's been a pretty reliable fantasy asset this season, but has only logged 45 combined minutes over the past two contests. Tyson has nine points, six rebounds and four assists and steals in those games combined.
Over 25 games (19 starts) this season, Tyson is averaging 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.6 blocks over 27.9 minutes a contest. He's shooting 51.9% overall and he's 44.9% from 3-point land.
He has gone over 30 minutes 12 times this season, and most of those came at the start of this month, so the past two games are definitely concerning. If he's not playing that many minutes, he's not worth a roster spot in standard leagues.
Another game or two at lower minutes should be enough to take Tyson out of standard leagues, unless he's delivering better fantasy results. Keep rostering Tyson in deeper leagues, as even at a lower amount of minutes, he's still a very good option.
Standard league owners who drop him, or have him dropped in their leagues, should keep a close eye on Tyson. There's a chance he bounces back in time, so be ready to pounce if it happens.
He might just be going through a tough stretch, but I'm definitely not about to write him off for good.
Should You Drop Anfernee Simons?
Simons is down another 4.3%, bringing his new overall mark to 58%.
He looked to be trending up after playing 25 or more minutes in four straight games. Simons' fantasy production was better in that stretch, but then he dropped down to just 17 minutes played in his last contest.
He still provided 11 points and an assist in his last appearance, but that's definitely not enough to roster him in many standard leagues.
Simons has been a better fantasy asset in the past, so he's definitely underwhelmed this season. I still like him in deeper leagues, but do not believe he's worth a standard league roster spot anymore.
A roster change or injury could help Simons' fantasy outlook, so he's a player to keep tabs on. He's a standard league streamer in a pinch, but until his role is more solidified, he's tough to trust in standard leagues.
Should You Drop Jeremiah Fears?
Fears is rostered in 51% of leagues after being dropped in 4% of leagues today.
The rookie continues to start for New Orleans, but he's been at 24 or less minutes in three straight games now. He has 26 points, 11 rebounds, nine assists and one steal in that stretch.
I like that he's starting, but until he's playing more minutes, it will be hard for him to deliver standard league worthy numbers. Keep him rostered in deeper leagues, at least for another couple games.
Standard league owners still need to monitor Fears, as he could be thrust into a bigger role at any point. Right now though, he's another droppable player in standard leagues.
We'll see if the rookie can ever hit his stride and emerge as a nightly fantasy asset in all leagues.
Should You Drop Dylan Harper?
Harper is down 3.5% and he's now owned in 49% of leagues overall.
Harper is another rookie who has seen his playing time drop of late. He has logged 18 and 17 minutes over the past two games, and combined for seven points and assists and five rebounds in those contests.
He has come off the bench in all 18 games he's played this season, but had been in a better groove until these past two contests. He's scored in double figures in 13 games, so two straight games below that mark (and three of the past four) is definitely a concern.
When he plays over half of games, he can stuff the stat sheet and be a pretty solid fantasy asset. With inconsistent playing time though, he's a better deep-league asset.
He's worth keeping tabs on, but right now, I like him better in deeper leagues. Don't write him off for good in standard leagues, but unless you are desperate for guard help, Harper is not worth rostering right now.
Other Droppable Players
Denver's Aaron Gordon is down to 77% owned after a 3.4% dropoff today. He's been out for a few weeks with a hamstring injury.
Utah's Ace Bailey is rostered in 37% of leagues right now. He's been dropped in 3.3% of leagues.
Sacramento's Malik Monk is down 3.2% and sits at 42% overall now. Charlotte's Ryan Kalkbrenner is owned in 43% of leagues after being let go in 3.1% of leagues. Kalkbrenner is dealing with an elbow injury.
Indiana's Jay Huff is rostered in 71% of leagues today. He's been dropped in 3% of leagues today.
San Antonio's Harrison Barnes is another player down 3%, and now he sits at 27% overall.
Toronto's Jamal Shead is down to 13% owned after being let go in 2.9% of leagues.
Philadelphia's Jared McCain has been dropped in 2.8% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 10%.
Portland's Toumani Camara is rostered in 79% of leagues after being let go in 2.7% of leagues.
