Aroldis Chapman Placed on DL
Closer Aroldis Chapman was placed on the 10 day disabled list retroactive to Saturday. Chapman is dealing with inflammation in his left shoulder rotator cuff. The New York Yankees GM Brian Cashman said to expect to see Chapman sidelined with the next four weeks.
Chapman had an MRI on Saturday morning that luckily revealed there is no structural damage to his shoulder. The Yankees will take things slowly to give their reliever time to recover.
This season Chapman's value has dropped some, but it is common to see swings in performance from relievers. Chapman has seven saves on the season with a 3.55 ERA, which is higher than normal. He has a high strikeout rate of 14.9 which is nice to see.
Chapman is still owned in 99% of leagues and is worth holding on to.
