Outlook Michael Soroka
Michael Soroka looks to rebound from a tough outing as he anchors Arizona's rotation.
Soroka has enjoyed a stellar resurgence with Arizona, though his June 2nd outing was a hiccup, giving up six runs in six innings to Los Angeles. Before that, he was outstanding over the last 30 days with a 2.54 ERA and 1.02 WHIP. With Corbin Burnes sidelined, Soroka remains locked in as a reliable back-end starter for the third-place Diamondbacks (32-29).
Our models project Soroka to finish with a 4.19 ERA and 1.28 WHIP over 131.0 innings. While his current 3.57 ERA is a massive improvement over his consecutive sub-par seasons, his excellent 9.05 K/9 and improved command suggest this bounceback is largely legitimate, even if some minor regression toward our projection occurs.
After a tough loss to the Dodgers earlier this week, Soroka has one remaining matchup on June 7th against Washington. He faces Cade Cavalli, who holds a 3.62 ERA and a high 1.42 WHIP, giving Soroka a great rebound opportunity at home. Keep him in your lineups. Verdict: Start.

Outlook George Kirby
George Kirby looks to reset after recent rough patch and mid-week loss
George Kirby has hit a difficult stretch, posting a bloated 6.56 ERA and 1.72 WHIP over his last three starts. Despite these recent speed bumps, he remains locked in as the number two starter in the rotation for the first-place Mariners (33-30). The pitching staff is currently navigating the absence of primary catcher Cal Raleigh, which has temporarily disrupted the team's battery dynamics.
While Kirby's 1.52 WHIP over the last 30 days is uncharacteristic, his elite career command suggests this slide is temporary. Our models project him to settle back in with a strong 3.71 ERA and a stellar 1.11 WHIP over the rest of the season. Fantasy managers should remain patient, as his track record of throwing strikes indicates positive regression is right around the corner.
Having already taken the loss in his June 3 start against the Mets, Kirby has no remaining appearances scheduled for the rest of the week as Seattle travels to Detroit. Because his weekly duties are officially complete, he can be safely benched for the weekend before returning to lineups next week. Verdict: Sit.
