Rickard Rakell | Fantasy Outlook

Rakell commands top-line and PP1 duties against Stars

Rickard Rakell holds prime deployment tonight as Pittsburgh hosts the Dallas Stars at PPG Paints Arena. The veteran winger continues to skate on the top line alongside Sidney Crosby and Bryan Rust, while maintaining first power-play duties with Evgeni Malkin and Erik Karlsson. Although Rakell has been held without a goal through his last five games, recording two assists and nine shots while averaging over 19 minutes of ice time, his heavy usage keeps him dangerous. Pittsburgh enters as a home underdog in an expected higher-scoring environment, facing Dallas netminder Jake Oettinger (confirmed).

Our projection for tonight places Rakell near ~1 point with ~2–3 shots on goal, translating to a solid 3.8 fantasy points and a good chance to score. His power-play upside remains elevated thanks to his premium placement on the top unit. Tonight caps off Pittsburgh's four-game slate for the week, providing one final opportunity to capture volume from the veteran forward. Despite a challenging matchup in net, his elite line assignment and ice time make him a dependable option. Today’s action: Start.
