8 Fantasy Football Players to Possibly Stream in Week 1: Murray, Allgeier, and More

Week 1 of the NFL season is just one week away! Fantasy football leagues are being drafted, and before you know it, you'll be setting your first lineups!

If you've already drafted, this article is for you! We'll look at some highly-projected players for Week 1 who are currently available in a good number of leagues, so we are more or less looking at streaming options for Week 1! Let's dive in!

Quarterbacks

Minnesota's Kyler Murray is projected for 17 fantasy points, and is rostered in just 72.97% of leagues.

His dual-threat ability definitely should intrigue fantasy owners, and the matchup is pretty solid against the Packers, who will be down Micah Parsons. Murray has a pretty good offense around him as well, so he could be more than a one-week streaming option, and be owned in all leagues in a hurry if he delivers early on.

Tampa Bay's Baker Mayfield is set for 16 points in Week 1 against the Bengals, who struggled last season but revamped their defense over the offseason. Mayfield is rostered in 64.44% of leagues.

Mayfield has been a pretty solid fantasy asset while in Tampa Bay, and he's set up for more success in 2026. If you missed on the top quarterbacks in your fantasy drafts and are now playing the streaming game early on, Mayfield could be one to try right away in Week 1.

Running Backs

Running back is going to be pretty sparse in terms of waiver wire talent for Week 1, but there's still a couple players with solid projections.

Arizona's Tyler Allgeier is set for nine PPR points in a clash against the Chargers, who were a pretty stout defense a season ago. Allgeier is projected well as Jeremiyah Love is still dealing with an injury.

Allgeier might carve out a role, even if Love is cleared and is the lead back for the Cardinals. Allgeier is rostered in 61.08% of leagues right now, and could be much closer to 100% as Week 1 nears - he definitely will be at 100% owned if Love isn't active.

Houston's Woody Marks is another running back who is projected to perform pretty well and that I also like. He's set for eight PPR points in a clash with the Bills.

Marks is currently rostered in 71.89% of leagues. He's expected to be in the offensive plans for the Texans, but likely after veteran David Montgomery on the depth chart. I still like the young back to carve out a weekly role, and maybe overtake the backfield lead in time. If you have injuries you're dealing with in the backfield heading into Week 1, stashing Marks as a possible fill-in is a pretty good idea in my eyes.

Wide Receiver

Again, there's not many waiver wire options at wide receiver, but there's a couple highly-projected guys who catch my eye.

Carolina's Jalen Coker is one of those wideouts. He is set for 11 PPR points in Week 1 against the Bears. 

Coker is WR2 at best in Carolina after Tetairoa McMillan. The limitations of Bryce Young and that offense have Coker owned in just 61.62% of leagues, but he could produce enough in the WR2 role for some fantasy value. You are likely set in standard leagues, unless you have several wideouts injured, but Coker is at least a decent pickup for deeper leagues going into the regular season.

Houston's Kayshon Boutte is another wideout that stands out to me, even though he's projected for eight PPR points only. He gets a test against the Bills, and is owned in just 25.7% of leagues.

He was traded to Houston from New England a couple weeks ago to help provide the Texans with some wideout depth after the season-ending injury to Jayden Higgins. Especially in deeper leagues, Boutte could be a sneaky-good fantasy asset, maybe even as early as Week 1.

Tight Ends

Things are super sparse at tight end, but there's still two players who I'm going to highlight here.

The first is New Orleans' Juwan Johnson, who is projected for 11 PPR points against the Lions in Week 1. He's sitting at just 57.53% rostered right now.

Johnson figures to be a big part of the Saints' offense, especially early on while rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson is on the injured reserve list. Johnson has been a solid fantasy asset in the past, and he could be a standard or deep-league option right off the bat in 2026, so if you need some TE help, look no further.

Houston's Dalton Schultz is the other tight end I'm going to discuss. He's projected for 10 PPR points against the Bills, and sits at just 34.44% rostered.

Much like Boutte at wide receiver, Schultz could factor in more offensively than anticipated with the Texans looking for more pass-catcher help. Nico Collins is still there, but defenses are likely to try to take him away, leaving potential big fantasy showings available to Boutte and Schultz.
