Week 11 Fantasy Football QB and TE Droppables: Should you drop Lamar Jackson and Trevor Lawrence?

Nick Roberts Nov 14th 8:05 AM EST.

We're always looking to make moves in fantasy football, and this is going to be a weekly spot where we look at some of the most widely-dropped players across fantasy leagues and decide whether you should (or shouldn’t) cut bait with them – due to either underperformance, injury, or otherwise.

We covered waiver adds already, but in order to pick up someone, you have to drop someone. And that isn’t a decision you should take lightly. We’ve all made drops we’ve come to regret.

Let’s take a look at some of the most dropped quarterbacks and tight ends for Week 10 and decide if they’re actually drop-worthy.

As always, check out the fantasy assistant for personalized waiver wire recommendations and team analysis. Make moves based on projections, strengths and weaknesses, waiver alerts, and lots more.

Week 11 Fantasy Football Droppables

Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens

This is totally a troll, but let's take away the name for a second and look at these averages over the past three weeks: 189 passing yards and 40 rushing yards. And that's to go along with two total touchdowns and three interceptions. While I realize I'm cherry-picking, those are also Jackson's numbers over his past three games. He's an obvious hold considering he's put up 25-plus fantasy points in three different games this season, but Lamar's not as much of a must-start as he used to be. While things will get better with the Bengals and Chargers before the bye, Jackson needs to string together a few good games to be worthy of a fantasy playoff start.

Verdict: Hold

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

While still a troll, this is much less of one. Pedigree aside, Lawrence is QB17 on the season and has a grand total of TWO multiple touchdown games all season. And worse, he's thrown for 202 yards or less in three of his last four games. While Lawrence is too good to just outright drop, he should probably be on your bench until he proves otherwise as he's just not getting it done fantasy-wise right now. And with a Week 14 matchup against a tough Browns defense looming, it would be a wise move to add a Week 14 alternative if you can find one on waivers.

Verdict: Hold

Will Levis, QB, Tennessee Titans

Levis was a popular pickup just two weeks ago and for good reason. He looked really promising and has the talent to allow you to envision the fantasy possibilities. However, he hasn't lived up to those possibilities and unfortunately hasn't done more than flash his potential here and there. Levis and the Titans have a nice schedule with Jacksonville, Carolina, and Indianapolis coming up, but I just don't trust Levis (and his mediocre supporting cast) enough to start him. Unless you're in a deep league, I don't see any reason to keep Levis right now.

Verdict: Drop

Chigoziem Okonkwo, TE, Tennessee Titans

Speaking of the Titans' mediocre supporting cast... I'm not sure if anyone is holding onto Chiggy at this point, but it's time to cut bait if you are. The most promising thing about him is that he's seeing a decent amount of targets for a mid-tier tight end. However, he's not doing anything with those targets as he hasn't caught more than five balls in a game all season (that only happened once) and hasn't put up more than 35 receiving yards in a game. He also hasn't scored a touchdown. You may have invested some draft capital in Okonkwo, but you're not doing yourself any favors if you're hanging onto him right now.

Verdict: Drop

Jonnu Smith, TE, Atlanta Falcons

Smith is surprisingly still TE13 on the year, but he hasn't done a whole lot over his past four games -- and the one good thing he did was a broken play that went for a touchdown so I don't think we can count on him repeating that on a regular basis. With Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts demanding the majority of the touches in Atlanta, there just isn't enough love to go around to keep Smith fantasy-relevant. He's only seen 12 total targets over his last four games and is coming of one catch for one yard performance this past weekend. While the beginning of the season was fun, it's time to cut bait with Jonnu.

Verdict: Drop
