Waiver Wire Adds
Boston's Jordan Walsh leads the waiver wire adds today - he's up 14.84% and now sits at 65.41% overall.
Walsh is coming off a 20-point showing, and has eight or more points in six straight games now. He's averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 assist and 0.8 blocks over 28.5 minutes in that six-game span.
He's got a chance to stick as a fantasy asset as Boston tries to replace Jayson Tatum. The big thing for Walsh is that he's starting and playing big minutes of late - he's been at 26 or more minutes in four straight.
If that sticks, the production should follow, and Walsh could stick as a solid fantasy asset. I like him best in deeper leagues right now, but he's also a standard league streaming option. If he sticks at these averages for longer, he'll start being added in standard leagues for good, so keep tabs on him.
Memphis' Cam Spencer is up 14.84% also, but is rostered in just 52.2% of leagues overall.
He has scored in double figures in nine straight contests. Spencer is averaging 15.8 points, 5.1 assists, 2.3 rebounds, 1 steal and 0.1 blocks over 25.1 minutes in that nine-game stretch.
Spencer has come off the bench for all but one game this season, but he's playing enough every night (especially of late) to have good fantasy value. It helps his cause that several of his teammates are out with injuries.
Spencer might not lose his role even after a lot of the injured players return. I think he's actually a bit overlooked as a fantasy asset, so scoop him up while you can.
I like him a lot in deeper leagues, and would be adding him today in those leagues. I bet he's outproducing someone on your team right now.
Spencer is a nice standard league streaming option right now as well. If he keeps producing like he has of late, he's even worth holding in standard leagues, even with a bench role, which means his minutes are a bit inconsistent.
Washington's Marvin Bagley III has been added in 12.83% of leagues, bringing his new overall mark up to 42.14%.
Bagley has provided 38 points, 27 rebounds, five assists and one steal and block over his past two games - enough said right?
Bagley has started seven straight games he's appeared in. He has averaged 13.9 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.1 blocks and 0.7 steals over 28 minutes in those seven games.
There's plenty of fantasy value in those numbers, so it's time to add him in all deeper leagues, even if it's just for a short timeframe. On a lacking Washington team, the chance to stick as a good fantasy asset is definitely there.
He's even worth streaming in standard leagues until his fantasy production drops off. If he keeps delivering like he has the past couple games, Bagley will be added in a ton of standard leagues for a while. Utilize him while he's in a good groove.
Dallas' Max Christie is another player up over 10%. He's owned in 24.53% of leagues after a 10.16% increase today.
Christie might have lost his starting role, but he's still playing enough to deliver for fantasy owners. In his past two games (both off the bench), he has provided 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals and blocks.
He had 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals in his last game, so maybe it's more that outing that has him on the rise. Christie played 33 minutes in that contest, while tallying 22 in the game before that.
If he can play closer to 30 minutes a night, he too could be a legit fantasy asset off the bench. His own percentage suggests that fantasy owners have given up on him. After what he did in his last game, I'd be willing to add him in more deeper leagues in case those numbers keep up.
Keep an eye on his statline and react accordingly, but I don't think Christie should be written off as a fantasy asset despite him coming off the bench now.
Memphis' Jaylen Wells and Cedric Coward are up 9.02% and 8.48% today. Wells is at 44.65% rostered, while Coward is up to 71.7%.
Dallas' Naji Marshall has been added in 8.47% of leagues, bringing his overall mark to 51.57%. Houston's Tari Eason is owned in 42.77% of leagues after an 8.29% increase.
Detroit's Isaiah Stewart is up 7.44% and is now rostered in 39.62% of leagues overall. Miami's Davion Mitchell is owned in 72.33% of leagues after a 7.39% increase today.
Detroit's Jaden Ivey, Toronto's Jamal Shead, Memphis' Jock Landale, Detroit's Duncan Robinson and Tobias Harris and Memphis' Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are all up 5% or more today.
Drop Candidates
The biggest drop of the day is Golden State's Pat Spencer. He's down 12.8% to 25% overall. He is the brother of Cam Spencer, so the brothers are trending in opposite directions.
Pat Spencer only played six minutes off the bench in his last game, which obviously is a great reason to drop him. He had started the previous three games, and played 20 or more minutes in five straight, so this was a drastic change to his role.
Obviously, if he sticks at less than 10 minutes a night, or even less than 20, his chances of being a good fantasy asset are slim. Drop him in your deeper league if there's a waiver wire asset you're interested in adding. I'm not writing Spencer off for good, but until further notice, he shouldn't be starting in many leagues, and he shouldn't be rostered in any either.
New Orleans' Jose Alvarado is owned in 17% of leagues after a 8.3% dropoff today.
Alvarado also saw a sharp spike in playing time in his last game. He only played 17 minutes, tallying three points, two rebounds and assists and one steal and block.
Alvarado had been over 22 minutes in the previous nine games, so he's trending in the wrong direction. Keep an eye on his minutes going forward to see if they bounce back or continue. If he continues to play under 20 minutes, you can safely drop him in most fantasy setups.
Sacramento's Maxime Raynaud is down 8% and sits at 41% overall now.
He is being let go after a down game. Raynaud had eight points, six rebounds and a block over 26 minutes in his last appearance.
Raynaud has been in double figures in four straight before that. With a healthy amount of rebounds too, he was a popular waiver wire add over the last week or so.
I think his own percentage is at a good spot now. It'll go up if he bounces back going forward, or it'll drop if he continues to deliver like he did in his last game. Right now though, he's not worth a standard league roster spot.
New Orleans' Herbert Jones has been dropped in 7.8% of leagues today. San Antonio's Julian Champagnie is down 6.9%, while Oklahoma City's Aaron Wiggins has been let go in 6% of leagues.
Charlotte's Ryan Kalkbrenner is down 5.9% today. Cleveland's De'Andre Hunter was dropped in 5.3% of leagues, while Indiana's T.J. McConnell was let go in 5.2% of leagues.
Chicago's Tre Jones is down 5.1% today. San Antonio's Keldon Johnson has been let go in 4.9% of leagues.
Golden State's De'Anthony Melton, OKC's Ajay Mitchell and Milwaukee's Bobby Portis are all down 4.6%. Dallas' Ryan Nembhard is down 4.5%.
