Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Adds for the Remaining Games
Looking at several fantasy basketball waiver wire options for the last few games of the regular season.
With the NBA regular season winding down this week, fantasy basketball leagues still playing are in the championship round.
With that in mind, let's check out a few waiver wire options for Wednesday, April 9. More waiver targets can be found on FantasySP.

Should You Add Bobby Portis?
Portis returned to the court on Tuesday after missing the previous 25 games with a suspension.
He tallied 18 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and one assist and block across 29 minutes off the bench in that contest. There was no easing Portis back into things, and that means he's a good fantasy asset for the remainder of the week.
He's got three more games (Thursday, Friday and Sunday) and is a good pickup for fantasy owners in all league types. Portis has double-double potential in any game he suits up for, and his next matchup against the Pelicans is especially favorable for him.
Add him and play him whether you are in a standard or deep league. He's got more fantasy upside than probably everyone else available to you in deeper leagues, and has a pretty safe fantasy floor as well, making him a good option in standard leagues.
Should You Add Donovan Clingan?
Clingan has been a good fantasy asset since April hit. In four games, he's recorded 36 points, 46 rebounds, nine assists, seven blocks and six steals.
He's not a big-time scorer, but the big rebound numbers accompanied by decent totals for assists, blocks and steals makes Clingan a pretty good overall fantasy asset.
He's also got three games left to possibly play in. He's got a super favorable matchup tonight against Utah, so I'd at least try streaming him tonight. After that, he's got another pretty good matchup against the Warriors before a bit tougher test against the Lakers to end the season.
I'd call him close to a must-add and play fantasy asset in deeper leagues, especially for tonight's game. I also wouldn't mind utilizing him in some standard leagues on Wednesday, but that really comes down to who else is available and if you have open starting slots.
I'd continue to roster and play Clingan in deeper leagues regardless of how he performs tonight, and would give him more standard league consideration for the final two games if he posts big numbers on Wednesday.
Should You Add Keon Ellis?
Ellis has struggled a bit of late, but has a juicy matchup on deck.
He's failed to score over three points in three of his past four games. Ellis does have 14 rebounds, 10 steals, four blocks and three assists to go along with his 18 points over that stretch, so he's at least putting up some fantasy points.
Ellis takes on the Nuggets on Wednesday, which is a pretty favorable fantasy matchup for him. In his previous three games against Denver this season, Ellis has racked up 29 points, 16 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and two blocks. He's projected for 25 fantasy points tonight.
After his recent struggles, Ellis is just a deep-league fantasy asset for tonight's game, but I'd trust the numbers and plug him in. He's then got a bit tougher matchup against the Clippers before a decent matchup against the Suns to end the season - I think Ellis is still a deep-league option for some of you in those contests.
Should You Add Justin Champagnie?
Champagnie is another deep-league fantasy waiver wire option.
Over his past two games, he's tallied 35 points, 26 rebounds, two steals and one assist while playing 35 and 37 minutes. There's enough fantasy value in the points and rebounds alone to justify playing him in a lot of deeper leagues, and far more than he's owned in now.
He's got an OK matchup against the 76ers on tap for Wednesday before a very favorable clash against the Hornets on Friday. He ends the season with another OK matchup against the Heat.
Based on what Champagnie has done of late though, I'm not so much worried about the matchups and would much rather just add him and hope he continues to deliver. Having two stats where he could deliver big results is what fantasy owners want to see, and I'd give him a start on Wednesday to see if he can keep things rolling.
If he delivers again Wednesday, he can be rolled out for starts later in the week too.
Should You Add Jonathan Mogbo?
Mogbo is a waiver wire option in even deeper leagues than the past couple guys we've discussed.
In his last game, he tallied 17 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists and two steals and blocks across 30 minutes in a start. He started the game before that too, but only had six points, eight boards and a block across 29 minutes in that one.
The reason I bring his name up is because of the matchups he has remaining. All three of his scheduled games are favorable matchups, with a really great clash coming against the Mavericks. He has good matchups against the Hornets (tonight) and Spurs (Sunday) as well.
He's available in 9/10 leagues, and considering the matchups he has ahead, his own percentage needs to be a lot higher. I'd be in favor of starting Mogbo tonight, and if he delivers, you can also roll him out there on Friday and Sunday.
His fantasy floor might be a touch low, but his ceiling is high enough where I'm willing to take a chance on him in the season's most important fantasy matchup.
Should You Add Brandin Podziemski?
Podziemski has been on a heater of late, so I'm surprised to see him still available in about 15% of leagues here.
He has scored between 19-28 points over the team's past four games. Podz has 95 points, 27 rebounds, 19 assists and five steals over those games, so it's not like he's only scoring either.
If the numbers weren't enough to sway your opinion on Podziemski, he's also got two favorable matchups in a row, before a bit tougher clash to end the season. He faces the Spurs and Trail Blazers in the next two games, before a test against the Clippers to cap the regular season.
Based on how he's been playing of late, I'd be all for adding and playing Podz in all leagues, especially in his next two games. If you want to drop him after those contests, that would make plenty of sense, but not utilizing him over the next two games is simply just an unwise move.
Should You Add Wendell Carter Jr.?
Carter is a better deep-league fantasy option, but is close enough to a standard league own percentage to also considering streaming in those leagues.
He's scored at least eight points in six straight contests, and is coming off a 17-point outing. Carter has racked up 68 points, 34 rebounds, nine steals and eight blocks and assists in those six games.
Carter has a tough matchup ahead against the Celtics, but also has combined for 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks in the two previous games against them.
He's got slightly better matchups after that against the Pacers and Hawks, so there's room for better outings if he does struggle against Boston. After his most recent outing, I'd be fine giving Carter fantasy starts in deeper leagues the rest of the season.
I'm a touch skeptical of adding and utilizing him in standard leagues against the Celtics, but if he excels in that game, he could be a standard league option for the final two games at least.
