Outlook Ezequiel Tovar
Ezequiel Tovar shows signs of life, but road matchups cap his weekly upside
Tovar has shown signs of life lately, batting .333 with a home run over his last four games, though his 14-day average sits at a sluggish .205. He remains locked in as the everyday shortstop for the last-place Rockies (27-45). Despite injuries to teammates Brenton Doyle and Jordan Beck, Tovar's everyday role remains completely secure.
While he has struggled with a .218 batting average and five home runs this season, our models expect positive regression toward his career benchmarks. We project Tovar to bat .262 with 12 home runs over 585 at-bats. His current average is a clear outlier compared to his .253 and .269 marks from previous seasons, making him a reasonable buy-low candidate.
Colorado has six games scheduled this week, starting with three on the road against Chicago before hosting Pittsburgh. Tovar faces tough matchups against Shota Imanaga (4.56 ERA) and Paul Skenes (2.85 ERA), though he gets relief against Edward Cabrera (4.86 ERA) and Jared Jones (4.73 ERA). Given his struggles away from Coors Field, it is best to leave him on the bench. Verdict: Sit.

Outlook Edwin Arroyo
Top Prospect Edwin Arroyo Faces Big League Reality as Playing Time Dwindles
The rookie has found tough sledding since his call-up, batting just .214 with two RBIs over his first 12 major league games. He got his opportunity with the fifth-place Reds (33-37) due to Elly De La Cruz's hamstring injury, but his run as a primary fill-in is drawing to a close. With De La Cruz nearing a mid-June return, Arroyo will slide back into a backup infielder role.
Although Arroyo tore up Triple-A with a .323 average and double-digit homers earlier this year, our models project a modest .226 average in his limited big-league exposure. The 22-year-old clearly has elite long-term upside, but his early-season struggles and a high strikeout rate indicate he is not yet ready to be a reliable redraft fantasy contributor.
The Reds play six games this week, hosting the Mets before visiting the Yankees. Arroyo faces a gauntlet of tough opposing starters, including Cam Schlittler and Gerrit Cole, which will severely limit his opportunities to get on track. Weekly Verdict: Sit.
