Fantasy Hockey Update: Connor Bedard, Jack Hughes Injury Outlook
Mark gives an update on the fantasy hockey landscape, including analysis of two unfortunate injuries to rising stars in the NHL.
The big news this week is injuries to stars Connor Bedard and Jack Hughes. Both look to be long-term, but both players are worth holding on to your roster. Additionally, the Toronto Maple Leafs have signed William Nylander to a massive eight-year, $92 million contract. This is interesting to watch as we head to the trade deadline and cap space becoming an issue for Toronto. There is also word that the Calgary Flames are shopping Defenseman Noah Hanifin around, hoping to trade him before he becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer. This is a situation to watch, because if he is traded to a rebuilding team, we could see his production crash through the floor.

Fantasy Hockey Waiver Wire Week 14
This week we have seven teams playing four games:
- Boston Bruins
- Dallas Stars
- Minnesota Wild
- New York Rangers
- Philadelphia Flyers
- Toronto Maple Leafs
- Vancouver Canucks
As always, you'll want to target players from these teams if you're looking to stream this week, so I will feature many of them in my wavier targets, along with some longer-term options.
Alex Nedeljkovic, G, Pittsburgh Penguins
It appears Nedeljkovic has played well enough to enter into a timeshare with Tristan Jarry. He has three wins in his last five games with a GAA of 9.35. I am assuming Pittsburgh is going with the hot hand here, and he has a chance to play twice this week.
Mason Marchment, LW, Dallas Stars
With nine points over the past four games played, Marchment is on pace for a 60-point season. He is playing on an excellent second line and a top-tier second power-play unit. With four games on deck, he is a great fill-in this week.
Tyler Seguin, C, Dallas Stars
Centering the excellent second line for the Dallas Stars with Marchment, Seguin has 29 points in 38 games, including 15 points in the last 19 games. It's not out of this world, but the Stars' second line is scoring and has a good week of matchups. He is also playing on the top power-play unit, giving him plenty of opportunities to pick up points.
Brock Faber, D, Minnesota Wild
I recommended Faber months ago, and now the rookie defenseman is rocketing up the Calder Trophy charts. Still criminally under-rostered, he recently had a three-point game in Columbus, breaking a six-game drought.
Sean Couturier, C, Philadelphia Flyers
Couturier only has 27 points in 37 games this season, but he is heating up with a three-game point streak. He centers Philadelphia’s top line and is on their top power-play unit, giving him plenty of opportunity to keep the streak going.
Joel Farabee, LW, Philadelphia Flyers
He was recently moved up to the top line with Couturier and Travis Konecny, and he’s putting up the points. He has been scoring at a point-per-game pace for the last month and is now up to 29 points in 39 games.
Dakota Joshua, C/LW, Vancouver Canucks
For about the last month, Joshua has 11 points, nine blocks, and 40 hits (for leagues that use this stat). Vancouver is a top-tier offense, and Joshua on the third line is making some noise. He is not on a power play unit, but he is a good injury fill-in this week.
Jake DeBrusk, RW/LW, Boston Bruins
DeBrusk is on Boston’s second line with Brad Marchand and Charlie Coyle and is developing some chemistry with them. Over the last six games he has four goals and four assists, and he remains on the Bruins' second power-play unit. With four games this week, he is an excellent pickup or matchup fill-in.
Hampus Lindholm, D, Boston Bruins
He is manning the point of Boston’s second power-play unit and has extended his point streak to four games with six assists. He is also second on the team in average ice time. That means he is in for a ton of work this week with four games coming up.
