Fantasy Football Week 8 RB Start/Sit Decisions Involving Jonah Coleman and More

Jonah Coleman is trending in several lineup decisions, but there are other running backs worth debating before Week 8 kicks off.

Let's keep looking into Week 8 start/sit decisions by focusing on running backs here!

We have already gone over start/sit articles on quarterbacks and tight ends, and will cover wide receivers in an article to come!

Use the FantasySP start/sit tool for all your Week 8 lineup decisions! Projections and defensive rankings are also available!

Should You Start Jonah Coleman?

Denver's Coleman is the running back in the most start/sit decisions in the FantasySP tool right now, so we'll open on him and his several trending decisions.

He's part of decisions against Denver's RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins, Los Angeles Chargers' Omarion Hampton, Washington's Rachaad White and Minnesota's Jordan Mason.

Coleman is going up against the Chiefs in Week 8. That's a very tough fantasy matchup, but I still had him 30th in my Week 8 RB rankings.

He returned from an injury last week and had nine rushing attempts for 54 yards, plus two catches for 15 yards across two targets. Coleman was starting to break out in Week 2 before he got injured, and the team didn't waste much time in getting him involved again after he returned.

Coleman could be the team's lead back in time, and that's why he was one of my favorite waiver wire adds of the week. This matchup isn't the best, but I think he ends up leading the Denver backfield.

With that in mind, you should be able to tell that I like Coleman as a fantasy asset over his teammates, Dobbins and Harvey. Fantasy owners like Coleman over Harvey - they also like Coleman over Dobbins this week. Not many fantasy owners are starting multiple Denver backs this week.

The matchup is tough, so I'd only pick one Denver back to start, and that's Coleman. He's not a must-start guy in standard leagues, but I think he needs to be in deep-league starting lineups.

Dobbins and Harvey are just deep-league options in my eyes. If you believe in them enough, they can be started in those leagues, but I'd try to avoid both of them if I could.

Hampton is barely preferred over Coleman, with both backs starting in 13.79% of leagues. Hampton ranks 29th for me heading into a below-average matchup against the Rams, so he's just ahead of Coleman. Again, he's not a must-start guy in standard leagues, but he's an option at least.

Fantasy owners prefer White over Coleman by a wide margin - both backs are starting just 8.96% of the time. White ranks 24th for me this week going into a slightly below-average test against Philadelphia, so I also like him over Coleman. White is the easy choice over Coleman if we are debating a final starting spot.

Mason is heavily preferred over Coleman, with both backs starting together in 13.33% of leagues. I have Mason as the Vikings' lead back for Week 8 against the Lions, who are a below-average matchup as well. Even if Aaron Jones Sr. is active, I like Mason to get the most backfield touches, and in a better matchup, he's the better fantasy starting option over Coleman.

Should You Start Chase Brown or Bhayshul Tuten?

There are no other running backs showing up a bunch on the start/sit tool, so let's go over some of the best decisions between two backs, starting with Cincinnati's Brown against Jacksonville's Tuten.

Brown has struggled, especially of late, and he has a slightly below-average test coming against the Titans. Tuten has been a pretty good fantasy asset of late, and has an above-average matchup coming against the Colts.

I like Tuten over Brown and ranked the Jacksonville back 11th and Cincy back 13th for Week 8. Both are RBs to be starting in all deeper leagues, and both will likely start in most standard leagues too.

Fantasy owners prefer Brown over Tuten, but both backs are starting 78.85% of the time.

Should You Start Quinshon Judkins or Rachaad White?

Let's end on an intriguing battle between Judkins and White.

We already discussed White a bit. I like him to lead the Washington backfield in Week 8, and despite a below-average test coming against the Eagles, I think the game outlook favors White and will result in him scoring several fantasy points.

Judkins has a below-average matchup coming against the Steelers. It's a matchup we've already seen, with the Browns' RB tallying 53 rushing yards and a score across 17 attempts, while adding 43 receiving yards on six receptions.

We discussed White ranking 24th already, and Judkins sits 22nd for me, so I prefer the Cleveland back this week. Ideally, you only need to start one of them in a standard league, but they both have solid enough outlooks to be starting if need be.

Fantasy owners also like Judkins over White, with both backs starting 40.91% of the time. Keep checking these links and using the start/sit data up until kickoff of Week 8 games to determine the best starting options!
