Week 5 Sunday DraftKings DFS Lineup: Building Around Justin Fields, De'Von Achane and Nico Collins

Morgan puts together a DFS lineup for the week 5 Sunday games.

I didn't fare as well as I expected to with my Thursday night DraftKings lineup, so I'm back with a lineup for Sunday's games.

This nine-spot lineup has to stay under a $50,000 budget and includes the Sunday noon and afternoon games - not the overseas game or Sunday night contests, so it's 10 games.

Let's get into it!

QB - Justin Fields ($5,600)

I decided on Fields in the quarterback spot. Why? Well, his dual-threat ability is always nice in these DFS lineups, plus he has a super favorable matchup against the Cowboys.

I usually am against Fields because he isn't the best passer, but I see him excelling as a passer this week. Add in whatever he does on the ground and you are talking about a big fantasy score.

It's also nice that his salary is a little lower, so he was really a no-brainer pick for me.

RB - Alvin Kamara ($5,900)

I ranked Kamara highly in my week 5 running back article, so I'm going to save a few more bucks and take him as my top running back.

I love his matchup against the Giants, and think he's going to star in a winnable game for the Saints. Kamara averages 12.1 fantasy points per week on DraftKings, and that's a nice fantasy floor, in my eyes.

If he ends up starring, I like my chances of this lineup succeeding.

RB - David Montgomery ($5,200)

So far, I've avoided the high-priced players. Those players don't always score the most anyways, so I'm going to continue going with the best matchups, while trying to pick some different players.

Sure, Jahmyr Gibbs would be a fun addition to this lineup, but I think this game could get lopsided, which will put more on Montgomery's plate. He's coming off a down showing, so I'm guessing the Lions are going to want to get Montgomery rolling again.

I see Montgomery finding the end zone at least once, and having a good shot at 100 total yards. He could be the make-or-break player in this lineup.

WR - Garrett Wilson ($6,100)

I'm pairing the quarterback and wide receiver with the best matchup in this lineup. Wilson is clearly the Jets' No. 1 wideout, so it's a perfect situation really.

Wilson already averages 19 fantasy points a game, so I'm getting a top-end option finally. He should star this weekend against the Cowboys.

All I have to hope for is Fields and Wilson to be connecting early and often, and for no other pass catchers to steal any touchdowns. It'd also be nice if Fields was the one running any touchdowns in too.

WR - Nico Collins ($6,800)

He's another unquestioned No. 1 wideout for his team. I like his favorable matchup against the Ravens too.

The only thing I worry about a bit is the Texans rolling to a win over the Lamar Jackson-less Ravens, but I just don't think Houston is that much better than Baltimore, even if the Ravens are missing Jackson.

Collins has been good the past two weeks, and now I'm hoping for a season-best game against the Ravens.

WR - Cameron Sutton ($6,000)

Again, I'm targeting a clear WR1 for a team here with Sutton.

He has a so-so matchup against the Eagles in week 5. I think the game flow will support another big week for Sutton. He has been really good in three of the four weeks so far, and I have no reason to expect anything less from him in week 5.

Ideally, Sutton is the one scoring the Broncos' TDs through the air.

TE - Darren Waller ($3,500)

Waller was stellar in his first game in 2025, although two scores really propped up his final numbers. Anyways, I expect his usage to increase in week 5 as the Dolphins are now without Tyreek Hill.

The matchup against the Panthers is favorable, so why not save a few bucks and try Waller? I'm going to need Waller to deliver to put this team in a good spot.

Flex - De'Von Achane ($7,300)

I had a good amount of money left for what was my final lineup spot, and I decided on Achane over guys like Saquon Barkley, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and others.

His matchup against the Panthers is a below-average one, but he's such a huge part of the team's offense that I really am not worried who Achane is playing. He's going to get his.

Now I just need him or Waller to be on the end of every Dolphins' touchdown this week. I'd really love it if this was a high-scoring game for Miami too.

D/ST - Colts ($3,300)

In a DFS contest, the difference in the top-scoring lineups can be a couple points, so every spot matters. At D/ST, I decided on the Colts.

They play the Raiders in week 5, so it's a very favorable matchup on paper. The Colts' D/ST averages 8.5 points a game already, so that's enough to have them in my lineup.

Final Thoughts

This is a really fun lineup, and I definitely feel that it has the makings of a money-winning squad.

There's not a ton of big-name players in it, which is key in these huge DFS contests. I played matchups really well for most of the picks, and have several team's offensive leaders.

Now, here's to hoping for an injury-free week and a couple monster fantasy showings. Best of luck with your week 5 lineups!
