2023 NFL Free Agency Frenzy: New York Jets Aim To Create A Familiar Setting For Aaron Rodgers, Target Allen Lazard & Randall Cobb
While the Aaron Rodgers saga drags on, The New York Jets are trying to reach a deal with receiver Allen Lazard, in hopes of also creating a familiar setting for the Hall of Fame Quarterback.
By joining the New York jets, Lazard would reconnect with Nathaniel Hackett, the former offensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers. In 15 games last season, Lazard had 60 catches for 788 yards and six touchdowns.
As mentioned earlier, Rodgers is close to making a decision about joining the Jets, returning to the Packers, or retiring from the game of football. One thing is for certain if he does join the Jets he will be setting foot in a very familiar setting. That appears to be the case, as the latest rumor has WR Randall Cobb" data-toggle="modal" data-target="#player-pop-up" href="/nfl_player_news/Randall_Cobb/">Randall Cobb also being part of the trade that would send Rodgers to the Jets. Cobb and Rodgers are very good friends on and off the field and both could benefit from a change in scenery.

2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
If the trade does materialize, Aaron Rodgers will be looking to reignite the game-breaking chemistry he shared with Randall Cobb in the big apple. The two connected for some highlight reel plays over the years which commemorated several years of success in Green Bay. They will look to replicate that kind of success to dethrone the powerhouses in the AFC, most notably the Kansas City Chiefs.
While Allen Lazard and Garett Wilson will form one of the league's most formidable wide receiver duos, as both are capable of making breathtaking plays, it will remain to be seen what kind of duty Randall Cobb will be relegated to. That appears to be the case, as Cobb will have the difficult challenge of outplaying Elijah Moore for slot duties and could find himself mostly in a blocking role.
However, as offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett is well aware of the skill set of each of the players he is trying to acquire, it can be expected that a similar game plan suited towards their strengths that led to the dominance during their time in Green bay will be sculpted, in an attempt to propel the Jets to the top of the AFC East.
